* FranchiseZombie: By the time the filmmakers had run out of books to adapt with ''Film/JurassicParkIII'', it was clear that this franchise had overstayed it's welcome.

* FranchiseZombie: By the third movie, it arguably became this as it was the first which had no book inspiration.

** A lighter example: Malcolm's rant to Hammond about how short-sighted his idea to revive something that already existed without considering the discoveries of those who had come before him sounds a lot like someone criticizing movies made in this one's wake that either rely too heavily on CGI or ape it's depiction of dinosaurs.
-->"''You read what others had done and you took the next step. You didn't earn the knowledge for yourselves, so you don't take any responsibility for it. You stood on the shoulders of geniuses to accomplish something as fast as you could, and before you even knew what you had, you patented it, and packaged it [...].''"

** Paleontologists today can look at the first Jurassic Parkís [[ArtisticLicensePaleontology portrayal of dinosaurs as laughably inaccurate]] (Like the velociraptors or the frilled, venom-spitting Dilophosaurus) but itís worth remembering it was probably one of the most accurate portrayals of dinosaurs in film at the time. A lot of Hollywood movies before then saw them as nothing more than [[PrehistoricMonster big]] [[DinosaursAreDragons scary]] [[DumbDinos dumb]] [[{{Slurpasaur}} lizards]] that they never bothered to [[CreatorsApathy research.]] The movie made a lot of old stereotypes [[IncrediblyLamePun Extinct]] like the kangaroo posture, having lizard like traits and anatomy, and being slow, dumb creatures. It was actually praised by the scientific community on how accurate it was at the time despite a lot of its faults, but with ScienceMarchesOn, [[FollowTheLeader everyone copying it dinosaur designs]], its own inaccuracies and the series Itself relying more and more on the RuleOfCool. The series today is often blamed for the publicís poor understanding of dinosaurs.

** The ''T. rex'' also. [[NonMaliciousMonster Calling it "evil" is questionable]], but it's the biggest threat in the film, and a total {{Badass}}.

* BrokenAesop: The "nature cannot be controlled" moral falls flat on its ass when you realize that ''all'' of the park's problems were caused by Hammond's cost-cutting. It therefore seems like the novel is taking a stab at corporate greed in general, or the danger of CuttingCorners.

* BrokenAesop: The film removes a lot of the book's setup revealing that the park's staff was already losing control of the dinosaurs, and all Nedry did was accelerate the process. So instead of a lesson on how nature cannot be controlled, you get the impression that everything would have been fine if only Hammond didn't have a traitor in his crew.
** Not to mention that the problem could also be blamed on poor park design. If zoos were designed just as poorly as Jurassic Park, then captive bears and lions could also eat visitors. Whenever that happens it is almost universally due to the stupidity of said victim.

* AlternateCharacterInterpretation: Jurassic Park fans love to point out that [[TyrannosaurusRex Rexy]] is a great female role model since 1.) she never finds a mate or has kids which she seems to be perfectly OK with 2.) she saves the day without any male help in the climaxes of ''Jurassic Park'' and ''Jurassic World'' 3.) she is still in shape even well into her early 20s (which is pretty old for a ''T. rex'') 4.) she [[SelfMadeWoman fought]] and kept her title as [[SheIsTheKing queen of the dinosaurs]] 5.) and she is the [[ActionGirl biggest badass]] in both Jurassic Park ''and'' Jurassic World.
