* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation: Several.
** Did Juno really care about her unborn child, or was she just eager to give it away to get back with Bleeker?

* BaseBreakingCharacter: Vanessa is either a Woobie who wants to be a mother or a Machiavellian, self-centered Jerkass who doesn't have the emotional fortitude or the know-how to do so. There's seemingly no gray area; people who see the film are either with her or against her.

* WhatDoYouMeanItsNotPolitical: In vain with MisaimedFandom above, there are pro-life activists who use the film as a tool against abortion although Ellen Page herself is pro-choice.

* LoveItOrHateIt: Less the movie so much as the dialogue. It's quirkiness is either a huge part of it's charm or deeply obnoxious.

* EsotericHappyEnding: Some viewers have very dark interpretation of Vanessa's future relationship with Juno's son and where it might lead. Though the movie paints her in a sympathetic light for choosing to go ahead with the adoption after Mark leaves, one can't help but wonder how she'll cope with being a single parent while still reeling from the split. Let's not forget that she still has a very demanding job that will eat up any time she intends to spend with the child.
** Although given she seems relatively well off, it's easy to assume she could have gotten maternity leave, which could then be followed up by a part-time work schedule. It's a boring solution, but one that happens constantly.

* StrawmanHasAPoint: The ultrasound technician is immediately called out by Vanessa on her statement that teenage mothers are less capable of raising children than adults. The film doesn't go beyond the technician's valid viewpoint that teenagers are too immature and not ready to handle the responsibilities of motherhood.
