* GrowingTheBeard: Season 2 fleshes out the world of Neverland more, with a better emphasis on finding actual treasures and FakeInteractivity being almost non-existant. Hook and Smee are also used to much more imaginative and funny means than just "stealing X of the day". Captain Jake and the Neverland Pirates grows the beard even further by having removing most if not all traces of FakeInteractivity and further ramping up the action adventure elements that wouldn't feel out of place in an ARPG.

Creating a page for Nightmare Fuel.

* NightmareFuel: Being a cartoon for kids, that is diluted, but it is Peter Pan what we're talking about, so..
** Shiver Jack. He is a evil ice wizard that wants to freeze the Neverland Isles for make them his "playground", is completely AxCrazy, and will not stop in front of anything for get his goal. Oh, he also tries to straight KILL the main characters when they stand in his way by freezing them alive. Sweet dreams...
*** Also Dread is quite terrifying, but also power-hungry and psycho. He literally tortures his victims into giving him what he wants, and, with ShiverJack, is the only villain who try to directly murders Jake and his crew by throwing bombs at them in his second apparition.
** The Sea Witch, the main antagonist of the "Golden Pirate Princess" arc. She is a evil, decaying, and sadistic sorceress who turns people in golden statues just becouse she could (EvilIsPetty, everyone?) and this is what she tries to do the main characters, and has already done it to the titular princess once ago. Yes, you heard that right. She put a person, a teenager, nothing less, into a AndIMustScream state in a kids show. She improves after her HeelFaceTurn in season 3, but still...
*** Lord Fathom, the BigBad of the Season 3 special, is utterly unsettling, to say the least. His grey, corpse-like skin, sharp teeth that would make Bruce from Jaws proud, use of black magic, YellowEyesOfSneakiness, and the fact that turn the Never Sea's creatures in mindless zombies with SicklyGreenGlow Eyes don't help but make him out of place in Neverland.
** The Grim Bucaneer is also terrifying. He is not a wizard, not a evil magic being or a clumsy AntiHero, but just a very skilled, devious man. He is absolutely greedy for power, and will even do damage to Neverland itself to reach it. The scene where he creeps to Izzy and snatches her in front of Jake, who can only see as the girl he sees as a sister is dragged into the shadows as he is completely harmless to do anything to save her is bone-chilling. Her screams, while he kidnaps her, are also creepy. Now just imagine that your kids and other people (but mostly your kids) are stuck in a dark, unsettling ship blocked in the middle of the sea. That's pretty much enough to get parents and other adults nightmares, but the thought that they are with a dangerous criminal that is dreaded in all of Neverland for his mercilessness that will or will not harm them is pure and utter AdultFear. HumansAreTheRealMonsters Indeed.
* The Stray, just The Stray. A giant sea snake with three heads and SicklyGreenGlow orbits, who utterly try to eat Jake and Co. After Lord Phatom release it, it immidiatedly goes after the main characters and is only stopped when Jake send it back to it's underwater prison, almost being devoured in the process.
** In The GrandFinale, Captain Hook, of all peoples , gets one: He steals a magic ArtifactOfDoom, a stone, wich have the power of turn others into stone. It also turn you slowly into a rock, and the most you use it, the most the petrification gets fast. The creepy thing, however, is that Hook seems like he does not care of it, and goes mad after its power, petrifing Peter Pan and later being willing to murder Jake, Wendy and Co, cheerfully leaving them to die when they tries to stop him, even gloating when he does it. And then, when he sees that they ares still alive, enters a VillainousBreakDown, claiming that he will shatter Peter so they will not foil him this time. He gets better after the stone is destroyed, but seeing a normally LaughAblyEvil character like Hook being so ruthless and omnicidal is quiet jarring.

* AlternateCharacterInterpretation: Tick Tock the Crocodile in this show occasionally passes up opportunities to eat Hook, and when he tries it's less intense of an effort compared to the original film. Is this just a byproduct of the show being LighterAndSofter, or has the croc actually figured out that he'll lose his purpose in life if he succeeds and is trying to drag the chase out for as long as humanly possible?
