** Karuta Roromiya is the most popular resident of Ayakashi Hall aside from Ririchiyo and Soushi. Even though she doesn't do much in terms of plot, her undeniable [[{{Moe}} cuteness factor]] and gluttonous tendencies are very amusing to a lot of fans. Made even more apparent in the anime adaptation where she was voiced by the very popular Creator/KanaHanazawa.

Uncanny Valley is IUEO now and the subjective version has been split; cleaning up misuse and ZCE in the process

* SugarWiki/SuperlativeDubbing: It is generally agreed among English dub fans that the dub was one of the best put out by Creator/SentaiFilmworks. It helps that Sentai mirrored the Japanese version of the series by casting [[AllStarCast well established actors of their talent pool]] into the dub. Made even more impressive is that the very controversial Steven Foster was the ADR director and this was before Sentai [[GrowingTheBeard grew the beard]].
* UncannyValley: Maid #3, who appears to have painted eyes over his eyelids.

Not a YMMV trope (surprisingly enough; I think perhaps it should be, but that's just my opinion).

* ContemptibleCover: The first few manga covers, but especially the first, feature some '''very''' ecchi art. It's almost enough to make prospective buyers think it's a raunchy sex comedy instead of a heartwarming, ''Manga/MaisonIkkoku''-style drama with supernatural elements. Notable in that the actual story itself is not very heavy on the {{Fanservice}}.

* {{Adorkable}}: Banri constant attempts to look and act like a delinquent, only to fail each time because of how much of a genuinely sweet kid he is, makes him very endearing.

in the canon.series, a group of "genetic throwbacks" who essentially reincarnate into themselves every time they die.
