She doesn't return to being her old self until [[spoiler: she gets to see Hajime again]].
** IronWoobie: Nadeshiko! Her entire family shuns her, as practically anything associated with her can and will trigger Sasuke's temper.

** IronWoobie: Nadeshiko! Her entire family practically disowned her, she's called a freak, her father hates her, she's antisocial due to her powers and experiences, she killed Shusuke and is overall someone that you want to give a huge hug along with Ooda and Yakata!

It isn't until she's finally allowed to see Hajime and her son again that she finally becomes her old self again.

** Just think about Sasuke for a moment. Think about how abusive he is. He pushes his children too hard emotionally and physically, sometimes hits his spouse, disowns his children for the most insignificant things and worst of all, he tries to [[spoiler: kill]] his own son for thinking he was too weak and just like any abuser, thinks his family is to blame and doesn't believe he's the one at fault. What a bastard, eh? Well guess what? Those types of people '''actually exist!''' Just the thought that someone could be so heartless and cruel in real life instead of just in a story is absolutely '''''TERRIFYING!''''' Not to mention a HUGE TearJerker!
* TearJerker: Shingetsu's birth because it looked like he was a stillborn.

** Ninako's insistence that she doesn't want to see her son again because she thinks he'll be an inhuman blob like he was when he was born is ''really'' heartbreaking... * TheWoobie: Ooda, both in-universe and out. He grew up mistrusted due to who he looked like, no one except his mother (and later on Suigetsu) loved him and he lacked self-confidence in most things he did.

* UnfortunateImplications: Believe it or not, I actually meant for this to be intentional. [[spoiler: A chunk of Thanatos' dialogue about his experiments on Salla was written to imply a sexually abusive/rape subtext. When I write somebody like him, I try and make them ''nasty''.]]

* TheWoobie: In-universe, Ooda gets this treatment, though not unwarranted.
