** [[spoiler: Not to mention Jacket simply charges the Biker, much like many a player would on their first round fighting him. Remember how well that went?]]

Added DiffLines:

* BreatherLevel: The third segment of Chapter 11. Compared to the fairly challenging segment before it, this area is very simple with you only having to focus on one or two enemies at a time. This segment also comes just before [[spoiler:an ambush by the third boss and the game's WhamEpisode]].

* BrokenBase: In a hands-on preview of Hotline Miami 2, there was a part where one of the main characters prepares to rape a wounded woman, and is only stopped by [[spoiler: the reveal that [[ShowWithinAShow they're both actors filming a scene in a slasher movie]]]]. Reactions were what you'd expect, though the devs later apologized and vowed to edit the scene in the final release.
** The sequel. Is it as good as the previous game or a step in the wrong direction? Is it [[TrueArtIsIncomprehensible too sane and easy to follow]], or [[MindScrewdriver a welcome explanation for the madness of the first game?]] Most prominent, however, is the debate on the issue of difficulty and level design, with many detractors claiming that the level design involves FakeDifficulty, with enemies that can't been seen and tons of windows for people to shoot you through.

** This goes double for the sequel. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ME2QOCVtCdM Voyager,]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PyY8QpSjYfY Roller Mobster]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GcC6aI-nb3A Technoir]], all of which are amazing.
* EnsembleDarkhorse: [[spoiler: The Son]] from the sequel is beloved for being a ridiculously RatedMForManly badass that's extremely fun to play as, has some of the best levels in the game, is the last person you play as in the game [[spoiler: and also dies in an [[DyingMomentOfAwesome awesome, ludicrous way.]] ]]

** The ''Jake the Snake'' mask makes any thrown weapon lethal as long as it carries momentum. What this means is that while wearing the mask, any weapon you grab can be used as an impromptu one-shot gun with an extremely wide scope that is completely silent and can [[OneHitPolykill mow down an entire crowd of mooks]]. That enemy with a gun is too far to close the distance with, and using a gun with blow your cover? Throw something at him and kill him silently. Shotgun ran out of ammo but there are more enemies coming at you? Throw the shotgun as they turn the corner and [[MadeOfPlasticine kill them all at once]].

* MoralEventHorizon : [[spoiler: Seriously, Manny? Shooting Tony dead when he was surrendering and then tell a nearby SWAT officier that he was jumping at you even though he was standing still, hands in the air]]?

** A load of them in the sequel. Some notable ones include:
*** ''Deathwish'', an absolutely brutal 4-floor marathon of death involving all 5 of the fans.
*** Pretty much all the soldier levels, due to the limited ammo, but the standout is ''Casualties'' with absolutely huge areas with multiple places to be shot from.
*** ''Dead Ahead'' is a level that is long, brutal and filled to the ''fucking brim'' with gunmen.
*** ''Seizure'' is full of InterfaceScrew, and with several enemies that are hidden by the objects in the enviroment.

** Sure enough, the current version of the game gives a different version of the event. [[spoiler: Instead of showing the scene where she's raped, the game instead shows the [[ShowWithinAShow final scene of the movie,]] where she [[ActionGirl escapes from the rapist's apartment and heroically guns him down, saving several lives in the process]].]]
--> [[spoiler: '''The Actress''': "I'm not your ''fucking'' girlfriend!"]]
** The sequel. Is it as good as the previous game or a step in the wrong direction? Is it too [[MindScrewdriver easy to follow]] and tells too much or is it a welcome explanation for the madness that was HLM1?? Most prominent however is the debate on the issue of difficulty and level design, with several detractors stating that the level design is too open to allow for real freedom.
