* PuritySue: The entire royal family of ternathia's. There are no chapters where they appear that they are not declared by others how wonderful, kind, charismatic (as literally saying those words) or noble wise they are. Webber is a monarchist and it's very critical of the democracy in name only, but when your Kings and queens are so utterly above human, it's hard to create a solid argument.

* StrangledByTheRedString: SciFiWritersHaveNoSenseOfScale: Taken to extreme levels in Sharlona but Arcana is not behind. According to the continuous exposition, the Ternathia's Empire can trace a clear, well documented, factual linear timeline (as in a single Empire, a single royal family, still updated/relevant treaties) of over 5,000 years old. As in, more than half of the human history. When discussing the Septes unification, Sharluka independence, the liberation of Tajvana, the view of its inhabitants of the Empire occupation and Andi's "return", they consider thousands of years as if it was mere decades. Apparently, living for over a millennium in a land still make's your family an outsider as if you were a second generation immigrant.

* CompleteMonster: Acting Commander of Five Hundred Neshok, an Arcanan Intelligence officer who gleefully uses his position and the excuse of "ensuring the security of the expeditionary force" to justify brutally beating and torturing Sharonian prisoners and killing other prisoners in cold blood. In one case, he kills two Sharonian prisoners to single out a Voice among them (the latter of which he kills just because he ''lied'' to Neshok) and, though he knows full well that Voices cannot transmit through portals and verifies this with a lie-detecting spell, then shoots the Voice in question.

AcceptableReligiousTargets: The religion that's explicitly stated to be at the base of Mythalans repulsive society is very much a blending of Hinduism (reincarnation and caste system) and Buddhism (reincarnation and quest for a Nirvana like state) while the virtuous Ransarans are all monotheists of one type or another except the Arcanan version of the Japanese who are the least likeable Ransaran society. On the other hand all the [[ALighterShadeOfGrey Sharonans]] seem to be pagans.
