** The PC release of ''Xrd SIGN'' lead to both people rejoicing at Arc System Works finally releasing a fighting game on PC while people were still playing it, and people bitter about the year-long wait and the eventual release of ''RELEVATOR'' that would make ''SIGN'' "irrelevant", and possibly won't come to PC.

* DuelingGames: ''Xrd'' is billed as one against ''KillerInstinct'' 2013, by virtue of being on rival platforms (''Xrd'' and the PS3/4 vs. ''KI'' and the XBO) and being the resurrection of two old 2D fighting game franchises. There's also a bit of an America vs. Japan thing going on.

* PolishedPort: The PC port of ''Xrd'' is generally well done, and pretty well optimized.

* ToyShip: Bridget and May.

* SugarWiki/VisualEffectsOfAwesome: ''Guilty Gear Xrd'' runs on the Unreal Engine, an engine known for 30 FPS "realistic" games when used for console games. They made it work at 60 FPS with a more stylized look reminiscent of past GG games, the 3D models lacking tween animations making them appear to move more like 2D sprites. This allows the game to look and move like a 2D sprite-based fighter while also allowing for dynamic camera angles for certain moves that other 2D games can't accomplish. Needless to say, it looks amazing, even at ludicrously high resolutions on PC.

* AndTheFandomRejoiced: After almost 20 years of constant appearances as a major NPC and then an appearance in Overture as a major boss and a DLC character, Raven FINALLY makes his playable fighting game debut in ''REVELATOR'', to the delight of many. The return of fan favorites such as Johnny, Jam and Dizzy brought forth this reaction as well.

** UNGA [[labelnote:explanation]] In the anime FGC, it's not uncommon to refer to large characters with massive normals that they can easily throw out and convert for high damage as "gorillas." In mid 2015, ommentator Jose "Mr. Biscuits" Lopez popularized the word unga (a sound commonly associated with gorillas and cavemen) to refer to Leo, particularly when used by top American player Zidane. Since then, the word has been used in reference to other "gorilla" characters, and Zidane himself would be entered as "Unga Bunga" on several occasions. [[/labelnote]]

** Xrd's changes to the story mode. Specifically making it basically a long visual novel like ''VideoGame/BlazBlue'' (particularly "True Ending" in its Story Mode), but removing all fights. Some don't mind and appreciate the story being separate for those who only care for the fighting. Others really miss the story mode from the old games with the branching paths and occasional fights.

Either way, at least there are no fights that are simple there to fill the quota.
