MEH requires the character be considered irredeemable In Universe, and requires they weren't already evil in the first place. Mandy is pretty much the evilest character in her home series, and the story opens with her as queen of the Underworld. And anyone who has seen the original Nightmare before Christmas will tell you Oogie Boogie was not good.
