* NoProblemWithLicensedGames: ''Snoopy Tennis'' and ''Popeye'' were very popular in their day, so it's a shame that they likely won't see a rerelease even if ''Gallery 5'' ever comes along.

* GuideDangIt: For some reason, one of the hints in ''2'' advises you not to collect the coins that drop in Modern ''Ball'' or "it's game over". They likely meant Bob-ombs; catching one ends the game instantly.

** The modern versions of ''Chef'' in ''2'' and ''4'' have two delays for Yoshi: one where he grows into an adult and another when he lays an egg. Unless he's directly underneath food, he won't rush out to eat it. It's all the difference between him catching the food in time and a miss.

** Getting a miss in most of the ''Gallery'' games results in a picture of a character's angry/sad face staring at you. While averted in ''4'', the limited palette of the first three games, especially ''2'' and ''3'', makes it even more off-setting.

** Getting Get too close to a miss tentacle in most ''Octopus'' and your diver will be constricted until he disappears. For added horror, this is one of the rare games which use lives in place of as misses (although the ''Gallery'' games results in spinoffs use misses instead). The modern versions play a picture of a character's angry/sad face staring at you. While averted in ''4'', the limited palette of the first three games, especially ''2'' and ''3'', makes it even more off-setting.chilling tune while Mario is being squeezed.

** In Game B of ''Parachute'', some skydivers who fall on the far right will get caught on a tree. When one is freed, he will drop faster to stay in line, forcing you to move all the way to the right to catch him.

* GameBreaker: Restore Points in the 3DS Virtual Console releases of the first three ''Gallery'' games make getting five stars almost a non-issue. '''[[NintendoHard Almost]].'''

** In ''Oil Panic'', you can get two kinds of misses but only three of one will end the game. For instance, if you fear you're about to get a third miss by causing a fire, you can dump oil outside and get a miss that way instead provided that you don't have two of those already.
