* SophomoreSlump: Kaos Studios was created out of the core staff that created the extremely popular mod for ''VideoGame/{{Battlefield}}'' 1942 called Desert Combat (which arguably inspired Dice to make ''VideoGame/{{Battlefield2}}'' a modern combat game). Since this game was their second major project, but their first one that didn't involve use of an existing game & engine, it was extremely mediocre, the beta launched with little fanfare, and the actual launch failed to make any impact on the first person shooter scene, either in competitive clan play, any sort of impact for the narrative singleplayer, or in the overall multiplayer sphere. Their second full game and third title, ''VideoGame/HomeFront'' was slightly better received, but didn't stop the studio being shut down and absorbed into THQ's Montreal group.

* SoOkayItsAverage: A decent game that's marred by some technical issues. The single player campaign seems like an afterthought.

* SoBadItsGood: A mediocre game that might just get by with a few funny glitches.
