* SnarkBait: Good luck finding somebody who has any ''positive'' things to say about 4Kids.

* SuperlativeDubbing: ''Anime/UltimateMuscle'' and ''VideoGame/DinosaurKing'' are considered to be some of the only legitimately good dubs to come out of 4Kids.
** Although some of the edits made to ''Pokémon'' and ''Shaman King'' were questionable, many still regard them as good dubs overall.

Added DiffLines:

** This usually doesn't extend to their voice actors since they were just reading scripts, and some, like Dan Green, Eric Stuart, Veronica Taylor, and Sean Schemmel are still well respected (for Schemmel, it helps that he went to Funimation afterwards).

* MostAnnoyingSound:
** Some of the voices they give their characters can occasionally border on this trope (especially Sanji's from ''One Piece'', who sounds like a Brooklyn gangster with really bad nasal problems).
** A lot of the bombastic music that [[LullDestruction constantly plays]] in most of their dubs can get ridiculous after a while.

* UnacceptableTargets: The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xfJuJrqFhXM 4Kids voice actors singing the American national anthem REALLY badly and as their respective characters]]. The less said, the better.

* AuthorsSavingThrow: [=4Kids=] did release uncut [=DVDs=] of ''Anime/YuGiOh'' in late 2004/early 2005, but only got through the first nine episodes. They put these on their Website/YouTube channel, [[ScrewedByTheLawyers but had to take them down since ADK didn't renew their contract with Yugi's Japanese voice actor]]. They also had subbed ''Anime/SonicX'' episodes on their [=YouTube=] channel for some time.

* AnimationAgeGhetto: Due to 4Kids' censorship practices and some comments that effectively indicated their dead refusal to alter them (CEO Kahn, who eventually stepped down in 2011, said in a 2005 interview, "..if [anime fans] want this programming to come to the United States, then they're going to have to accept the fact that it's going to be available in two styles"), 4Kids effectively was one of the outlets enforcing the ghetto, potentially to the chagrin of Creator/{{Pixar}}, Creator/{{Disney}}, and Creator/DreamWorksAnimation. This effectively ended when the ''Yu-Gi-Oh!'' licensing agreements fell into disarray, Kahn stepped back, alternate versions of animation arose, and Disney created a second Disney Renaissance.

* BrokenBase: Over whether or not 4Kids is really ''that bad''. On one hand, some of their dubs have been well-received (to most people anyway), most notably ''Anime/{{Pokemon}}'', ''Yu-Gi-Oh'', and even ''Anime/SonicX''. On the other hand, you got 4Kids applying a lot of very gratuitous edits to their dubs, complete with [[{{Narm}} narmy]] dialog, story arcs that were either rewritten or even skipped over, and, most infamously, constant [[{{bowdlerise}} bowdlerization]].
