Likewise for fans of ''WesternAnimation/RickAndMorty'', to hear Justin Roiland do something more family friendly in a leading role (Before this show he was Lemongrab in ''WesternAnimation/AdventureTime''. A show with... really wonky content).

* {{Moe}}: For a show with {{deranged animation}}, this show has a lot of surprisingly cute characters. The main trio, Albert Glass, Jumbo Shrimp, Shellsea, Finberley, and Esmargot all come to mind.

* TheScrappy: Perhaps the most despised person on the show is Randy Pincherson. He's a {{Jerkass}} who treats the others like shit, ruins moments for people just because he can, and has zero redeeming qualities. He makes Jocktopus look better by comparison.

** Both fans ''and'' haters of the show agree that if the show was focused less on school, and more on the {{w|idgetSeries}}eirdness, it wouldn't be such a indecisive crowd. Needless to say, episodes like "Fish Out of Water" or "Peopleing" are better received than episodes like "Queen Bea" or "Fish Floaters".

** At times, Oscar also qualifies. He is such a nervous wreck, and is implied several times that he has some sort of [[AmbiguousDisorder anxiety disorder]].

** Finberly is also a pretty NiceGirl, yet she has fallen victim to slapstick and sudden bad luck as of season 2.
* EnsembleDarkhorse: Clamantha and Shellsea are fondly remembered years after the show ended, with frequent comments about them on Youtube and Twitter consisting of mentioning how the two carried the show.

** "Milo's Magical Shake", and is it ever. Long story short, Milo gets his 1,000th milkshake for free along with 999 shakes he bought previously, names it Emily, and cherishes the moment rather than drinks her. Milo doesn't even consider drinking Emily even when she starts to melt, and [[DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything his friends even hold an intervention!]] Of course, [[IdiotHero Milo]] was the main character of this one.
** "Oscar is a Playa": Based on an assumption between Escargot and Oscar, where the former overreacts and doesn’t give the full story until the episode is about to end.
** "Oscar's Secret Admirer": Oscar and Bea discover a note in the former's locker. It was put by Milo, by the way, since he didn't [[DidntThinkThisThrough thought that it could be confused for an actual love letter]].
** "Bea Dates Milo": Milo and Bea decide to fake date when they both think the other one has feelings for them, and they don't do the logical thing until the episode's near end.

** Both fans ''and'' haters of the show agree that if the show was focused less on school, and more on the [[WidgetSeries weirdness]], it wouldn't be such a indecisive crowd. * SugarWiki/AwesomeArt: Not that the show is normally a slouch in the animation department, but there quite a few fans who preferred the human character designs in "Pool Party Panic". Aside from them managing to avert falling in to the UncannyValley and all of them actually looking good if not better, their faces, shape, and personality are honest-to-god faithful to their fish counterparts and [[CastOfSnowflakes beautifully diverse]].

* UncannyValley: Occasionally the animation becomes quite stiff and jerky for a Disney show, but these examples stand out:

* TheyCopiedItSoItSucks: A lot of people have criticized the show for being too similar to ''WesternAnimation/SpongeBobSquarePants'', both being aquatic-themed cartoons and all.

* CrazyAwesome: Milo. He is the self-titled party guy, and it shows of how much awesome he can be.

* PairTheSpares[=/=]ShipsThatPassInTheNight: With the Oscar x Bea pairing, there tends to be a paring of [[CrazyAwesome Milo]] x [[LovableAlphaBitch Shellsea]], despite that both have very little dialogue together, the most being in the sleepover episode, when Milo is DisguisedInDrag.

** Also, Koi, Clamanatha, and Mr. Baldwin himself.
