Added DiffLines:

* ItsEasySoItSucks: Between your infinite magick reserves and the ability to target enemy heads and arms when fighting them, this is a common criticism of the game, especially with its tendency to be lumped into the SurvivalHorror genre, which it is decidedly not.

Added DiffLines:

* {{Narm}}: Alex is menaced by Pious [[spoiler:posing as Edward's ghost]] at one point, and she sends him away with an angry "Get away from me!" and what amounts to a gesture that looks like she was going to [[GroinAttack grab his crotch]], given that she was sitting and he was standing over her.

* AlternateCharacterInterpretation: [[spoiler:Mantorok]]. MagnificentBastard who created a [[spoiler:millennia-spanning GambitRoulette and exploited an EnemyMine situation with humanity in order to eliminate the only possible checks on his power]]? Ultimately benign entity who is willing to coexist peacefully with humanity? Some combination of the two? [[TakeAThirdOption A third option]] is he's merely taking {{Revenge}} against those who have effectively given him a [[CruelAndUnusualDeath painful death]] lasting thousands of years.

* AnnoyingVideoGameHelper: Given all the numerous times a visual depiction of each Ancient's dominance over each other is shown, you will ''never'' find yourself forgetting how the ElementalRockPaperScissors works. You also need to sit through all the tutorials regardless of whether or not you've finished the game.

* BaseBreaker: ''Shadow of the Eternals'', especially its funding methods. Part of it has to do with the fact that the game's announcement came off the heels of a Kotaku article involving Silicon Knights' business practices, and much of the minds behind this game no longer work at the company (which went under a short time before the announcement of ''Shadow of the Eternals'') or with Denis Dyack.

* [[MagnumOpus Magnum Opus]]/[[MagnumOpusDissonance Magnum Opus Dissonance]]: ''Eternal Darkness'' is regarded as the best game to ever come out from Silicon Knights, holding the [[http://www.metacritic.com/game/gamecube/eternal-darkness-sanitys-requiem highest Metascore]] of any of their titles. It helped that [[http://kotaku.com/5955223/what-went-wrong-with-silicon-knights-x+men-destiny Nintendo was directly involved in its creation]], imposing the high standard of 'Nintendo quality' on the dev team, [[NetworkToTheRescue which resulted in a genuinely good product]]. However, Silicon Knights soon cut ties with Nintendo to focus on the development of ''VideoGame/TooHuman'', the passion project of company founder Denis Dyack who saw it as his masterwork, now being free to produce it without Nintendo "interfering". Come 2008 and ''Too Human'' is released to mediocre reviews and poor sales with SK suing Epic Games for providing them with an underpowered engine, [[CreatorKiller thus setting into motion the humiliating process that resulted in Silicon Knights destroying copies of their own games before closing down]]. So much for creative autonomy…

* AnticlimaxBoss: The Black Guardian has shades of this, with it being pretty easy despite [[spoiler:easily killing Paul Luther]], with attacks that don't do that much damage and are easy to avoid. The problem though is that damaging in itd second phase borders on GuideDangIt.

** "Pargon!" [[labelnote:Explanation]] The "power" rune, added to increase spells' power level. Since all runes besides the two for the spell and the Ancient's rune will be this at higher levels, a 7 point spell might sound like "Tier, Pargon, Santak, Pargon, Pargon, Ulyaoth, Pargon!", so you will hear Pargon quite often[[/labelnote]]
