** As of The Madness of Agent Zero, is Zero a madman suffering from hallucinations? Or is he the OnlySaneMan who somehow ?

** Thanks to the CerebusRetcon in The Madness of Agent Zero, it's rather hard to reread the once-hilarious "dusty memory card rant".

** Jim "Spy" Covalent used to work for Alpha Team. In 2016, it was revealed that he was not the only Spy on the team.

* TheWoobie: Zero, as of The Madness of Agent Zero. He can't understand why he's hallucinating or why nobody else remembers what he's talking about. He asks hallucinations of Phantom and Rex for help, but they can't help him. Worst of all, [[spoiler:he realizes that he is a fictional character who has been abandoned by his writer]].

* AcceptableTargets: While the idea itself is frowned upon, Acceptable Targets inevitably appeared in Dino Attack RPG.
** AcceptableEthnicTargets: Bald People, Russians, and Germans are typically targets.
** AcceptableProfessionalTargets: Soldiers, Scientists, and Hunters are three often-used targets.

** [=PeabodySam=] purposely left a lot of ambiguity to the attempted escape of to let readers draw their own conclusion about his intentions. Was he in denial about and was returning to XERRD to fight alongside them during the final battle? Was he trying to atone for his sins by returning to XERRD so he could tell them the truth in hopes that they could stop the Dino Attack? Was he aware that, with Dr. Rex's imminent attack on Dino Attack Headquarters, the smartest thing to do was to get out of there as quickly as possible? Or was he just so devastated and broken by the revelation that the only thing he could do was run away from it all?

Afterward, it became SnarkBait as it was infamously known as the lowest point of the RPG.

** Although a rather weak one, such a tumor existed during the battles against Kotua and Chaos... the love story of Rex and Amanda Claw. Even though they were nearly killed by a madman Alpha Team agent, a water monster, a futuristic treasure hunter, and a self-destructing robot only a few minutes prior, and Amanda's brother had just suddenly disappeared, there's no time to worry about that - we've got a love story to write! Over time, as Rex and Amanda's relationship developed and [=PeabodySam=] became a better writer, the tumor eventually became benign, but looking back on its beginnings, it was definitely malignant at first.

This was a major source of inspiration for Love and War, which attempts to rectify the issue by making the beginnings of Rex and Amanda's relationship feel more natural and less out-of-place.

** The very existence and role of Plastic Serpent in Dino Attack RPG is the result of a Critical Research Failure by Atton Rand. After several RPG players mistook Snake for an Expy of Solid Snake when he was actually meant to be a CaptainErsatz of Snake Plissken, Atton Rand "did the research" and came to the conclusion that Solid Snake was a shameless rip-off of Snake Plissken. After that, he continuously referred to Solid Snake as a horrible knockoff, and just to drive the point home, he introduced Plastic Serpent, who was intended to be an Expy of Solid Snake (except they really do not have much in common) and proceeded to depict Snake beating up Plastic Serpent on three different occasions as a TakeThat to Metal Gear. When other players such as [=PeabodySam=] and Andrewnuva199 tried to suggest that Solid Snake could have been a homage or loving tribute rather than a shameless knockoff, Atton Rand would not even consider the possibility. How is this a Critical Research Failure? For all the "research" Atton Rand claimed to have performed to come to the conclusion that Solid Snake was a Snake Plissken rip-off, just Google the words solid snake plissken. The fourth result clearly states that Creator/HideoKojima asked Creator/JohnCarpenter for his blessing, and Carpenter approved. The comments on this thread also show that this was plainly obvious to most fans of the franchise. Atton Rand's harsh accusations towards Solid Snake were easily disproved by the fourth result of a simple Google search. That is how it is a Critical Research Failure.
** After the death of , Atton Rand immediately seized the opportunity to make a CallBack to an earlier scene by bringing the corpse into the hospital wing where it would be seen by Pierce. In doing so, he completely neglected to notice that there was no way the body could have been retrieved at that point, since [[spoiler:she was with Rex in the middle of the battlefield, surrounded by hungry Mutant Lizards, with Michelle Glados about to shoot Rex, and an explicit note from PeabodySam informing his fellow players not to interfere]]. Atton Rand was quickly called out on it by Andrewnuva199, and seemed surprised that no one had retrieved the body yet, suggesting that he did not even read [=PeabodySam=]'s post when he wrote his own.If you're wondering how this could have been possible, avmatoran and a few other players did comment OOC on what just happened, so Atton Rand could have possibly read those comments without reading the full IC post. Atton Rand later tried to cover up his mistake by claiming that he was initiating AnachronicOrder, but his reaction to learning that the body was not yet retrieved suggests otherwise.

* RelationshipSue: [=PeabodySam=] fears that Talia Kaahs and Shannon Grimton may be examples of Relationship Sues, since they were created to be the love interests of General and Frozeen, respectively, but never received as much development as Amanda did.

* ThatOneBoss: Kotua. It got even worse when he recruited Chaos, making this That One DualBoss.

to:

* ThatOneBoss: Kotua.Kotua, who had an airship and robot army at his disposal, equipped with high-tech weaponry and impervious shields. Being a player's primary character meant that other players (like [=PeabodySam=] and Chronicler of Ko-Koro) were hesitant to do any serious damage to him, but Kotua in Space had no qualms with Kotua freely attacking everyone else. Therefore, if Kotua fought your character, either you ran or you got locked up aboard the Voltage again; victory was not an option. It got even worse when he recruited Chaos, making this That One DualBoss.

** The reintroduction of the Octosaur was meant to build up a certain amount of fear with the realization that they were still around and still a formidable adversary- but after its one reappearance it was never seen or mentioned again, even though such a creature could have been an interesting way to raise the stakes on Adventurers' Island (perhaps providing a broken bridge of sorts to keep people deserting so easily) or even in the final battle of LEGO City.
*** Probably didn't help that the Octosaur was largely overshadowed by various other, bigger developments over the course of the RPG, as well as new players who didn't know of or remember its reintroduction.

* VillainSue:
** Blaire Darkling to an extent, though this is mostly the work of too many characters going after Blaire while Brikman [=McStudz=] had intended to only have his main cast fight him.
** Kotua had VillainSue written all over him during his time. It certainly did not help that most of his vehicles and minions were NighInvulnerable and/or armed with unbelievably high tech, and he had a tendency to just show up and attack fellow players whenever he pleased.
** Duke... just Duke. It seemed that he existed for no reason other than to cause trouble for the idealists, from getting powerful explosives out of nowhere and rigging them up around a Dino Attack meeting without anyone noticing to escaping from a high-security prison with very little difficulty.
*** Admittedly, it probably didn't help that this was around the same time as the equally-infamous Cam O'Cozy. YMMV on which one is worse.
** Stromling!Palmer, who was introduced mere moments before , threatened to upstage the latter by casting illusions and summoning an army of NighInvulnerable Stromlings as soon as he revealed his true form, both abilities far too powerful for a mere Stromling to have, especially when compared to his predecessors Zachary Virchaus and Achu. spoiler:This led to the Darkitect actually telling Palmer off, revealing that the Darkitect was actually the one who was casting the illusions and was annoyed that Palmer was arrogant and presumptuous enough to think that it was his illusions instead.

Even though they were nearly killed by a madman Alpha Team agent, a water monster, a futuristic treasure hunter, and a self-destructing robot only a few minutes prior, and Amanda's brother had just suddenly disappeared, there's no time to worry about that - we've got a love story to write! * PutneySwopePanic: It was hard enough following Dino Attack RPG in its early years, especially due to the LoadsAndLoadsOfCharacters with interwoven plots, references to earlier [=RPGs=], and especially the CanonDiscontinuity. Things went FromBadToWorse when Website/BZPower was hacked and most of the original RPG was LostForever. Even with the wiki and the editor's notes in the downloadable archive, good luck trying to understand everything that's going on in the original RPG.
