* MenAreTheExpendableGender: Some viewers have accused the Death Battle team of deliberately skewing the results of matches that pit males against females such as Gaara vs Toph, Tracer vs Scout, and Lara Croft vs Nathan Drake. Intentionally setting up male combatants to lose.

** Season 4 started off even worse than Season 3, unfortunately. While Nathan Drake vs Lara Croft was very well animated, and few argued with the actual winner, the means of the victory met a point of severe contention. [[spoiler:Nathan Drake met his end not because of Lara Croft's superior experience or skill, but because the helicopter that Nathan was fleeing with exploded...from being struck by the sides of an ice hook. Further more, the actual kill wasn't by Lara herself but from an unlucky Nathan being pierced by the helicopter's blades. Not only does this ignore Nathan's inherent luck, but gives him an OutOfCharacterMoment in that Nathan wouldn't be trying to escape like this, nevermind having an ice hook explode an armored helicopter.]] The dislike ratio on the video currently resides at roughly 45% as of now, so that alone could be a visual indicator. However, defenders point out the animation does '''not''' decide the winner and is simply a dramatization of a potential fight, [[spoiler:and the hosts make clear mention that luck only carries one so far as far as a battle to the death with someone who can outperform you in almost every way goes, with the aforementioned helicopter blades symbolizing Drake's luck running out]].

WordOfGod (via the Death Battle cast) stated that, for all intents and purposes, [[spoiler: Lara probably would have killed Drake with her bow in the back of the truck, but the team decided that it would be [[RuleOfFun more entertaining]] to pay homage to [[ItMakesJustAsMuchSenseInContext Lara's bizarre helicopter/throwing pick kill]] from her home canon,]] but this has done little to appease the more vocal factions.

** While Deadpool vs Pinkie Pie isn't hated liked other examples, the nature of the episode and the combatants irked some fans. On the contrary, Lara Croft vs Nathan Drake is liked by the majority of fans by its animation and analysis.

** Ratchet and Clank VS Jak and Daxter gets a few in that many claim that Daxter's own Dark form was excluded from the match, and that it would have been a valuable asset. Others counter this point out that given that logic, Clank would have been given his Alpha and Giant modes to counter this, which would have turned the match into an even worse CurbStompBattle in R&C's favor.

** Season 4 begins with a bang. The animation of Lara vs Nathan is spectacular. It has everything: gun shooting, melee fighting, an awesome background, vehicles race. Its feels like you're seeing a movie that makes justice both characters and frachises.
