** At the end of "Deadpool vs. Pinkie Pie" [[spoiler:Deadpool crashes the ''Death Battle Cast'' podcast and it seems that he's going to kill Ben and Chad before it becomes a BaitAndSwitch]]. The ''Marvel TL;DR'' of ''ComicBook/DeadpoolKillsTheMarvelUniverse'' has him pull this off with the show.
** A common piece of Fanon was that [[spoiler:Scout's death in ''Tracer vs. Scout'' would not be permanent, as DeathIsCheap in his home series. [[http://www.teamfortress.com/tf06_thenakedandthedead/#f=180 When the next Team Fortress comic came out, Scout was killed in action... and immediately sent back by God himself]].]]

*** And a couple of months after the episode's release, it was announced that Creator/TomHardy, who portrayed Bane in ''Film/TheDarkKnightRises'', [[http://ew.com/movies/2017/05/19/tom-hardy-venom-spider-man-spinoff/amp/ had been cast as Venom in an upcoming film from Sony.]]

** Overlaps with HarsherInHindsight because holy moly, that death was ''gross'': In WebAnimation/OneMinuteMelee's version of Natsu vs. Ace, [[spoiler: Ace beat Natsu by overloading him with fire and making him burst like a balloon.]] A pretty silly and clean death, all things considered. Death Battle's version of the fight, on the other hand, has [[spoiler: Natsu turn Ace into nothing but ash, which we see in ''excruciating'' detail.]] The difference between those two endings could not be any more different, on more than one level.

** A minor one with Natsu VS Ace but prior to the episode's release, Ben revealed a teaser for the episode, showing the setting to be almost exactly the same as the previous Fairy Tail VS One Piece fight; Zoro VS Erza. This lead many people to assume that the fight would start due to [[spoiler: Natsu going on a RoaringRampageOfRevenge for Erza's death]]. Instead Erza doesn't get so much as a mention and the fight starts because Ace stole food.

* UnintentionallyUnsympathetic:
** Toph is portrayed as the more heroic contestant of her battle, yet Gaara makes it clear he is standing on ground that is sacred to him, and that he wants to be left alone. So of course, Toph desecrates the area just because she wants a challenge.
** Likewise, a few viewers have also noticed that despite her being depicted as the more heroic of the two, Yang basically assaulted a bouncer for merely doing his job, trashed the bar's front door by slamming the poor schmuck through it, [[spoiler:and then murdered the bar's owner for trying to evict the violent individual from her property, albeit only after said bar owner [[LimitBreak escalated the fight]] [[MegatonPunch to that level]]]].

** Zig-zagged with [[spoiler: Natsu vs Ace. More than a few people called Natsu winning, but the reasoning turned out to be less simple than expected, going into more than just the idea of Natsu eating Ace.]]

* Awful as [[spoiler:Hulk]]'s death was in ''Death Battle'' at least, he went out fighting like a badass. [[ComicBook/CivilWarII His canon death]] is just him getting unceremoniously getting shot by [[spoiler:ComicBook/{{Hawkeye}}]] over a misunderstanding.
