* BadassDecay: Though largely a street-level hero, Darkhawk is one of the most powerful street-level heroes and can take on whole gangs single-handed. During ''Arena'' [[spoiler: he gets his armor stolen in issue ''3'' with barely a fight and spends most of the story on the sidelines]]. Of course this because Darkhawk at his full strength [[StoryBreakerPower could've effortlessly broken Arcade's whole scheme]].
* EnsembleDarkhorse: Darkhawk is an Ensemble Darkhorse in the greater Marvel universe. He's a c-lister at best (hell one of the few superhero teams he's joined was called the League of ''Losers'') but fans love him and wish he was used more.
* FandomBerserkButton: Like fans of the {{ComicBook/Runaways}} and ''ComicBook/AvengersAcademy'', fans of Darkhawk tend to go livid at the sheer mention of ''ComicBook/AvengersArena''. In this case it's because [[spoiler: he serves little purpose and spends most of the story out of action just so his armor can be taken by Chase.]]

** In the early aughts, he struggled with preventing the armor from taking over his personality and turning him into either a KnightTemplar or a BloodKnight, but when ''ComicBook/TheLoners'' failed to become an ongoing series, this conflict was hastily wrapped up with him somehow learning to make peace with the armor.
