* WhatDoYouMeanItWasntMadeOnDrugs: The mushroom episode is a notable example.

Some recent Super Robot Wars address this as the nice and TheCape Banjou is just a façade. Some characters, especially villains will notice that Banjou hides something behind this façade. When Megazoids are involved, Banjou will remove the mask and become very irritable and angry, at the surprise of other characters who don't know this side of him. This also factored why Banjou is a BaseBreakingCharacter to the community: Ever since the more widespread ''Z'' saga, the Meganoids were rarely to never featured (it was only added back in ''DD''), so players rarely get to see the more 'interesting' Banjou-beneath-the-façade.

** Banjou, or rather his chracterization in some VideoGame/SuperRobotWars games anyway. He is either loved for being a MemeticBadass and GameBreaker incarnate, or hated for being way too [[SpotlightStealingSquad overexposed]] in most titles he is featured. Having appeared in each title without using its plot (the last time Daitarn's plot was used in a console SRW title was in Alpha 2) and act as {{Filler}} or being the good guys' financier of their activities doesn't help. Most people think that he is the reason why other classic titles such as Mosapeda, Vifram, and Govarian weren't featured in any SRW title.

** The Meganoids (with the exception of Lisa though [[spoiler: she tragically dies in the only episode she's in]] and to an extent if Doil's [[spoiler: RedemptionMeansDeath]] also count). They could have been more sympathetic if they accept Banjo's offer to surrender, [[TheAtoner atone their sins]] and not harm humans anymore, even so helping him in facing off against their own kind who are still loyal to Don Sauzer. But instead, they put humans into UnwillingRoboticization, straight-up killing them if they refused, competing themselves so that they would be accepted as Don Sauzer's right-hand man instead of Koros and destroy cities. Even more so in the finale where [[spoiler: they could have been terraforming mars or invade any other planet besides Earth so that they could never harm humans in the first place.]] Or if they refused, their deaths could have been a lot more tragic if a few of them have at least 1 or 2 sympathetic qualities (besides the aforementioned Lisa and Doil, a Meganoid scientist who [[spoiler: sacrifices herself by saving a lost civilization from a missile launched by Koros]]) which makes the ending of the show more heart-wrenching than it already was. Instead, a majority of them were irredeemable bastards who [[SoreLoser are unwilling to accept defeat]] which got themselves killed by Banjou.
