** It's kind of sad to think about, particularly if you watch his early career back now, that a guy that was so talented, and put so much of his heart and body into the business, became so burned out and disillusioned that he's quoted as having said that he had no passion left for wrestling, and indeed only found happiness by leaving the industry altogether. He probably had the sort of talent, stability ([[StraightEdge owing to his relatively cleaner lifestyle]]) and mental acumen to pour into the business for ''decades'' in some form or another, but he wants nothing more to do with wrestling.

** Getting a second chance in the Octagon for a UFC event in Chicago. More dedicated MMA fans have begun making numerous jokes about how much lower the UFC would need to dig for any opponent that Punk could realistically defeat, while casual fans and Punk’s pro wrestling fan base believe he won’t be defeated as quickly as he was the first time.

** Enter 2012. In his "Best in the World" feud with Wrestling/ChrisJericho, the former [=Y2J=] takes it upon himself to expose the dirty laundry about Punk's father's alcoholism to the WWE audience for the first time and then make up even more about Punk's sister and mother just to piss him off. When this doesn't work, Jericho decides to [[MoralEventHorizon stoop so low]] as to try and step on Punk's core by letting/helping MarkHenry leave Punk floored and prone for two weeks in a row only so he can pour and/or smash large quantities of [[{{Kayfabe}} whiskey and beer]] all over Punk.

** Any semblance of Punk being viewed as a legit badass was destroyed after his fight with Mickey Gall in the UFC, where Punk threw one punch, was taken down, and quickly beaten with virtually no resistance. Of course, this requires you to ignore the fact that his opponent, Mickey Gall, is significantly more experienced than Punk in all facets of MMA. Punk isn't even the easiest opponent Gall has had (his 2nd opponent tapped to the same move as in only ''45'' seconds, barely lasting 1/3 as long as Punk). [[JerkassHasAPoint Of course that begs the question of what Punk was doing in the UFC in the first place, as the only other MMA debutant to start in the UFC in recent history, James Toney, was a multiple divison boxing champion, even if well past his prime.]]

* CatharsisFactor: His WorkedShoot promos in 2011 were ''thoroughly'' relished by smart fans. To see him chew out Wrestling/VinceMcMahon on live television was pretty amazing.
