** ItsTheSameSoItSucks: Played a part in Bug Too being less well received. Bug was a fairly impressive game in 1995 as it was one of the earliest 3D platformers, but by the time Bug Too was released, ''VideoGame/CrashBandicoot'' and ''VideoGame/SuperMario64'' had since far surpassed it both on a technical and game design level. Bug Too didn't do enough to keep up, and the flaws became more glaring over time, despite some minor refinements such as a run button and the ability to hover giving you better control.

Added DiffLines:

** In Bug Too, the boss of Swatterworld continuously spawns in a huge amount of mooks resulting in you becoming overwhelmed incredibly quickly if you don't finish him off fast. And if you defeat the boss? You can still get killed by the mooks and lose the fight if they kill you before the boss's death animation is finished.

** As noted in {{Sequelitis}} below, the second game is not as well received as the first. What makes this hilarious is that the games are supposed to be movies in-universe, and sequels very rarely measure up to the original film.

!!! Tropes for the webcomic:
* AcceptableTargets: The army would need to invoke this trope [[http://www.bugcomic.com/comics/an-army-of-fun/ to convince the bug to join.]]
--> "Oh my god! It's '''[[NinjaPirateZombieRobot Nazi Pedophile Ghidrah]]'''!!"
* FridgeHorror: [[http://www.bugcomic.com/comics/the-truth-about-birthdays/ "Birthdays just celebrate the fact that you're not dead yet."]]
* UglyCute: All of the cockroach-like characters (meaning every character except [[http://www.bugcomic.com/comics/office-odors/ the goat]]) fit this trope.

* SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome: ''Bug'''s been out only for a year, and had to compete for TWCL's Best Gag-A-Day Comic award with ''SaturdayMorningBreakfastCereal'', ''Webcomic/{{Sinfest}}'', ''and'' ''Webcomic/{{xkcd}}''. And won.

Added DiffLines:

* CriticalDissonance: While critics gave it good to average reviews (61% on Rotten Tomatoes), audiences almost collectively hated the film (being one of the few films to get an F rating on Cinemascore). But then again, the film was mismarketed as a horror film (it's really a psychological drama/thriller).
