* CriticalDissonance: The Playstation Vita version has divided both critics and players alike. The graphics are downgraded but look rather nice for a Vita game. The controls are tweaked but some have found optimal configurations that work for them. The content is all there but the game doesn't always run perfectly, but many customers have said they understand the technical limitations of the system and that the performance is "good enough" to still be perfectly playable and fun. You're either on the side that accepts the issues as minor annoyances or on the side that flat-out calls them deal-breaking and looks the other way.

* SoOkayItsAverage: ''Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt'' is widely agreed to be the weakest of the DLC's. It's short, and filled with frustrating gameplay elements like circular area waypoints and minimal Fast Travel stations. On the other hand, Nakayama's voice acting is ''wonderful''.

Added DiffLines:

* ThatOneAttack: Wilhelm's OneHitKill opening train throw, when it hits, and Tinder Snowflake's submerged rush (unless of course you ''like'' being hit in the face with a high-damage, almost unavoidable ram attack by a boss that is immune to damage while it's doing it).

Added DiffLines:

** While not especially ''hard'', the two primary maps of ''Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt'' are ''ungodly large'' and lack Catch-A-Boat stations in several places where they'd be desirable, making it take an enormously long time to get from one place to another. A number of sidequests in this DLC can also be failed, which if that happens requires trekking all the way back to Hammerlock or Claptrap to reset them, which translates to upwards of a fifteen-minute trip between attempts.

* CatharsisFactor: [[spoiler:You have to listen to Handsome Jack taunting, threatening, trolling, and insults through the ''entire game'' possibly wondering why nobody on ThisVeryWiki never considered making this selfish bastard the TropeNamer for EntitledBastard. * HellIsThatNoise: Gaige while being damaged from elemental sources. Unlike the other Vault Hunters, she screams out in pain. It will get under your skin and want the damage to stop ''now''.
** Axton will make a very erotic "Oh" when he's fighting, which sounds...very out of place amongst his other, cheerful combat lines.
** The scream Angel makes when [[spoiler: Jack electrocutes her.]]

* BrokenBase:
** Over the Mechromancer and Psycho [=DLCs=]. Most players don't have a problem with Gaige and Krieg themselves, and they're great in gameplay, but some fans did note that for those who didn't pre-order, 800 Microsoft Points/$10 is a pretty steep asking price (Especially since the add-on characters aren't in the Season Pass DLC). After the announcement and release of Krieg, in particular, it got pretty bad, to the point where ''every'' post on the Borderlands Game Facebook community (and pretty much anyplace else Borderlands 2 was discussed) drew complaint responses from fans who thought the character [=DLCs=] should have been included in the Season Pass, and counter-complaints from fans annoyed with the complainers.
** Some fans are not pleased about the fact that the level cap has not been increased past 50, even after the release of three (out of four) DLC packs. After 6 months a [[http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/24/borderlands-2-getting-new-class-level-cap-raise-in-the-next-few/ cap increase has finally been confirmed]] as well as a brand new NewGamePlus, which eased tensions somewhat. Unfortunately, the eleven-level cap increase also happened to be released as paid DLC, resulting in similar complaints as the Mechromancer DLC. Luckily, the level cap increase is a bonus part of the Season Pass.
** While the serious moments of the game are usually considered to be well written, this game and ''Pre Sequel'' have come under flack for Anthony Burch's overusage of pop culture memes. While they were in the first game, the games Burch wrote use them as a heavy base for the comedy in the game, which some people thought was purely lazy. Others, namely people who don't mind the origins of the jokes, counter that the voice acting is strong enough to hold the comedy.
*** To a lesser extent, the shift from the more serious tone of the first game to full blown BlackComedy. While you could argue that the transition began with the first game's [=DLCs=], it really came to a head with 2's release. Some people love it and prefer it to the first, which they consider to have taken itself too seriously, while others would prefer a return to a bleaker tone.
** Adding to the above moment concerning the comedy; is the gunplay and other story moments strong enough to hold the game up, or is it a cheap sequel that does little to actually innovate?

** [=W4R-D3N=] is a nightmare if you don't have electric or corrosive weapons to handle both its shield and the [[MookMaker masses of Loaders that it spawns on you]]. And if you get it down to no shield, it'll start spawning Badass Loaders, which are much tougher to kill.
