Added DiffLines:

* RetroactiveRecognition: The fast food/concessions worker from "The Lockout" is a very young Tony Way, a character actor who appears in smallish parts in high-profile shows such as ''Series/DoctorWho'', ''{{Series/Sherlock}}'', and ''Series/GameOfThrones''.
** The doctor in the first episode is none other than a young MartinFreeman, better known to modern viewers as John Watson and Bilbo Baggins.
** The alarm technician is none other than a young NickFrost, and SimonPegg shows up in a later episode.
** The shipping forecaster is played by Peter Serafinowicz, who voiced Darth Maul in StarWars, and will be playing the Tick in the upcoming reboot of the series.
** Trebor, the creepy Middle Eastern man who attempts to take advantage of Manny in "He's Leaving Home" is played by Omid Djalili, who appeared in the third ''Pirates of the Caribbean'' movie as [[http://pirates.wikia.com/wiki/Askay the pirate Teague shoots after questioning the code]] (and said pirate's twin brother), and the prison warden from the first ''Mummy'' film (you know, the one who's [[spoiler:eaten alive from the inside by a scarab until he runs headfirst into a wall, killing himself]]).
** The hen party in "Elephants and Hens" is made up of [[Film/ShaunOfTheDead Dianne]], [[Series/BroadChurch Ellie Miller]] and [[Film/RunFatboyRun Claire]].
** There's one heck of a retroactive recognition if you watch ''Shaun Of The Dead'' after watching this - [[http://images1.fanpop.com/images/quiz/21928_1214578975257_500_211.jpg Peter Serafinowicz]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukE7qnsLuwA Tamsin Grieg, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Lucy Davis and Martin Freeman all appear]].

* JerkassWoobie: Bernard.Bernard, as is revealed in the final episode of the series. [[spoiler:Part of his misanthropic behavior stems from learning that a girl he loved is dead. And it wasn't even true!]]

** The moment where Bernard and Fran duck under their restaurant table to find a miniature bar, complete with bartender, quite literally under everyone's feet is surreal even by this show's standards. They barely even acknowledge it, preferring to have an argument about how boring their dinner conversation with Manny's parents is.

Added DiffLines:

* MoodWhiplash: The final episode's plot about deciding to go to the party takes a turn after they return where Bernard & Manny end up in an argument and Manny delivers a TheReasonYouSuck speech. Despite the rest of the episode still having comedic moments, it's still horrendously dark compared to the first half.
