* SoBadItsGood: The anime adaptation has a reputation for this, due to all the cuts, deviations and extremely bizarre additions that have made the story a lot less coherent and logical. People have hailed it as one of the best nonsensical comedies of the Spring2016Anime season.

People have hailed it as one of the best nonsensical comedies of the Spring2016Anime season. Some viewers who had read the entire manga even consider the anime to have had a better ending than its source material... which is saying a lot!

* NeverTrustATitle: "Big Order" mislead people to think it's about food service.
** [[spoiler: Ironically this actually happens in the final episode of the anime, were the word "Order" is used to describe a meal rather than a power.]]

* TooSoon: The anime adaptation began airing on April 16, 2016, the absolute worst possible time. The first episode of the show concerns massive destruction occurring in the city of Kumamoto; this was only 2 days after a magnitude 6.4 earthquake hit Kumamoto and powerful aftershocks continued to rock the region throughout the week.

** Some fans even went so far as to compare the series to Anime/AngelCop and Manga/ViolenceJack for its post-apocalyptic setting and erotica flavored violence.

* WhatDoYouMeanItsForKids: From its S&M undertones to its extreme violence to its depictions of incest and rape, Big Order would make even the most laconic fans sit up and take notice.

** Iyo. In episode 8, [[spoiler: she tries to rape Eiji after he is drugged and handcuffed to a bed]], which sure ticked off a lot of viewers who viewed Iyo as the only likable character in the series.
