* {{Anvilicious}}[=/=]SomeAnvilsNeedToBeDropped: The series covers several heavy topics related to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Gender Identity primarily, with an odd combination of ham-handed and nuance. Post Trauamtic Stress Disorder, for instance, covers not just war, but assault and torture; and Gender Identity issues include bisexuality and whether or not [[spoiler: the attempted sexual assault that awoke Striker's powers also 'caused him' to be gay.]]

Moral Event Horizon refers to an act of despicable, indefensible, irredeemable evil. This incident simply doesn't qualify.
* MoralEventHorizon: [[spoiler:Emma]] has one in the ''Avengers vs X-Men'' tie in [[spoiler:she scraps Juston Seyfert's [[RobotBuddy pet Sentinel]], simply for being a Sentinel]].

* StrawmanHasAPoint: During the "War with the {{Runaways}}" arc, Hank Pym and Tigra plotted to take Molly Hayes and Klara Prast and put them into foster homes where they would never be found by their older "siblings". Predictably, when the Runaways found out, they attacked. While Pym and Tigra's plan sounded cold and heartless, and while Hank Pym is probably the last person who ought to be making decisions about other people's lives, it's worth noting that the arc was, in part, a follow-up to the unfinished "Home Schooling" arc from the Runaways series, the central thesis of which seemed to be that Nico and Chase were god-awful parental figures who seemed especially ill-equipped to help Klara, who was still showing signs of trauma from her near-death experience and who is powerful enough to accidentally kill someone if she gets too upset. Thankfully, at the end, [[spoiler:Nico casts a spell to make each team see things from the other team's point of view, and thus the two groups are able to reach a peaceful compromise.]]

Unfortunate Implications require citations from secondary sources.
* UglyCute: Mettle * UnfortunateImplications: Addressed within the comic. Some readers have a problem with [[spoiler: Striker's homosexuality, mainly due to the fact that he was molested by a man as a child. Striker himself is conflicted about this as well and is worried that [[RapeAndSwitch his molestation was what turned him gay]]. However after a talk with Julie, she tells him that ultimately his molester can only exert that power over him if he let him, which he does not.]]

* MemeticMutation: Mettle, particularly his face, became a meme on a [[ImageBoards a particular image board]] and before his name was announced, they called him "Fortress". Acknowledged twice in the comic itself, once of Mettle learning of his meme status (making up for him being mistaken for the child of the Red Skull) and later when lamenting the attention, he declares that they betrayed him.

Complaining About Shows You Dont Watch is now only about the In Universe usage. Its usage as an Audience Reaction is being removed, as well as usage in criticism on work pages, which is inappropriate regardless.
* BaseBreaker: Juston, not because of his personality or gimmick but because his RobotBuddy is a [[MookFaceTurn Mook-Face Turned]] Sentinel. This fact caused some X-Men fans to hate the character declaring that Sentinel is a machine for mutant genocide. Also a case of ComplainingAboutShowsYouDontWatch as this is kind of the point; showing that even a war machine like the Sentinels could become a force of good. That said pretty much everyone felt that [[spoiler: Emma [[MoralEventHorizon crossed the line]] by when she nearly murdered it]].

* JumpTheShark: The move to the West Coast Avengers headquarters is beginning to look like this to a lot of fans. A particularly uninteresting and dragged out story involving Future Reptil, a reliance on [[SpecialGuest guest stars]] (a rather lackluster Runaways crossover and some X-Men students among others) and an overinflated cast (the originals minus Veil, the teachers, a ton of recognizable background characters and new additions Julie Power, White Tiger and X-23) that's resulted in far less focus and characters becoming more two-dimensional are seen as the biggest culprits post-move. ** Also having Hawkeye as the new instructor did not help as he is in other different teams such as SecretAvengers, [[Comicbook/TheAvengers Avengers]] and ComicBook/NewAvengers. This is also a WolverinePublicity thanks to the Avengers movie.
