* OneOfUs: The crowd at Wrestlemania XX just about blew the roof off the Garden when Paul's classic "Ohhh, yesss!" came over the PA. This wasn't just because of his legendary status as a manager, but also because Paul made a point to be accessible to the fans as best as he could, particularly on social media, where he was the most interactive with them. This was because Paul himself ''was'' a fan as much as he was a superstar in his own right. The fans were literally welcoming not just Paul Bearer, but one of their own back to the Garden. You could tell he was having a blast at their reaction, too.

* DyeHard: Was actually a redhead.
** During his time as Percy Pringle, he was a bottle blond.

* InMemoriam: On December 8, 2013, [[http://www.hollywoodwrestling.com/ Championship Wrestling from Hollywood]] held the Percy Pringle III Memorial Cup.

* OneOfUs: As said above, he was very open and accessible to the fans, both before and after the internet age started. Because he was also a fan of the industry himself (a fact that Mick Foley's first book makes clear), it's easy to see why fans reacted with thunderous cheers when his classic "[[CatchPhrase Ohhh yessss!]]" came over the PA at Madison Square Garden at Wrestlemania XX. One of their own had just come home.

* EvilerThanThou: After Yokozuna dispelled the Undertaker at the '94 ''RoyalRumble'', the [[Wrestling/TedDiBiase Million Dollar Man]] and others scrambled around for months trying to find his body, eager to control him just as Bearer did. At last, [=DiBiase=] wheeled out a fake Undertaker (actually Brian Lee) to throw everyone off the track. This is one of the few times Black-haired Bearer got '''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQnUeozAL6w furious]]''': he promised to make [=DiBiase=] suffer for hijacking his creation.

* JokerImmunity: Hold on, ''how'' many times has this guy died? Kane stuffed him headfirst down a real-life manhole . (How did they pull off that stunt?) He turned up later in the PPV looking no worse for wear. Not even a grease spot. He also survived being buried in cement on-camera, with no cutaways.

* IWasQuiteTheLooker: As Paul Bearer, he mentions this trope after he reveals himself as Kane's real father, having had an affair with the Undertakers mother at some point decades ago. As those of you who have seen photos of Moody in his younger days, its basically true.

* MeanCharacterNiceActor: He was nothing like his in-ring personas, the underhanded Percy Pringle or the sleazy, scheming Paul Bearer. In real life, Moody was a dedicated family man, of strong moral convictions, and had a very open relation with his fanbase. Just [[http://percysposts.blogspot.com/2007/06/my-friend-sherri-and-more.html read]] this blog post in he tells of splitting his money with unpaid jobbers.

* AffablyEvil: Just a doughy man who runs a funeral home, and gets excited when talking about his work. Sure, he made some mistakes (like reanimating dead bodies to serve as wrestlers). The red-haired version was less kindly, raving like a firebrand preacher.

* FatBastard: Perhaps one of the biggest in all of the WWE, matching fairly closely with Wrestling/{{Yokozuna}}. He eventually shed a good deal of weight after undergoing gastric bypass surgery.
