* PlatonicLifePartners: Played straight with Sheila and her robot the [[=XJ5=]], even if fans tend to think that's more than platonic from [[=XJ5=]]'s side. Also played with Larry and Tuddrussel, it's also played [[IncrediblyLamePun straight]], though with the aura of HoYay around the friendship, this is debatable.
* PlotWhatPlot: "Day of the Larrys" and "Ex Marks the Spot" seem to exist just so Dave Wasson and his animation crew can piss off the censors with as much HoYay as possible and remove the pesky "ambiguous" from Larry's "AmbiguouslyGay" description (NotThatTheresAnythingWrongWithThat). "Ex Marks The Spot" ''at least'' had a historical mission (no matter how thin and easily-resolved it was) to pad things out; "Day of the Larrys"...didn't -- and didn't seem to care about it.
* PoliticallyCorrectHistory: For the purpose of comedy, historical villains such as Blackbeard are given a serious toning down, since having the characters help out a murderous rapist wouldnt be very funny. Same goes for historical battles such as Waterloo or Little Big Horn, which are shown as a field-size bar brawl rather than a fight to the death.
