* TalkingToHimself: About usual, with Frank Welker, Don Messick and Casey Kasem voicing multiple characters. Most notably, "The Haunted Riverboat" has Shaggy bantering with Alexander Cabot III (from ''ComicBook/JosieAndThePussycats'').

* SeriesContinuityError: Shaggy is shown to have a hay allergy in "The Haunted_Horseman of Hagglethorn Hall", which contradicts several past and future episodes, most obviously "The Frickert Fracas", which is part of the same season.

* NonindicativeName: These episodes don't really seem long enough to count as "movies". They're also not very new anymore.
** To be fair, the modern notion that movies must be around "90 minutes" is a little unfair given the amount of movies that have existed that are under and over that length. This show being early 1970s, there were plenty of drive-in movies in the 1950s and 1960s with around an hour's run time. [[FridgeBrilliance After all,]] ''[[FridgeBrilliance any]]'' [[FridgeBrilliance form of video media longer than 45 minutes is classified as a "movie".]]
** Clearly, they were new at the time.

** WeirdCrossover: Most of whom are quite out of place being in a Scooby-Doo episode, and some of whom aren't actually Hanna-Barbera characters.

* SpiritualSuccessor: The ''ComicBook/ScoobyDooTeamUp'' comic series, which has the same basic principal as this series: OncePerEpisode Scooby and the gang are called upon and/or team up with a guest (or guests) to solve a mystery. The main difference is that the majority of the guest characters here tend to be Creator/DCComics superheroes (i.e. ComicBook/{{Batman}}, ComicBook/{{Superman}}, ComicBook/WonderWoman, etc.) or fellow Creator/HannaBarbera characters (i.e. WesternAnimation/JonnyQuest, WesternAnimation/TheFlintstones, and even HB FunnyAnimal characters like WesternAnimation/SecretSquirrel and WesternAnimation/QuickDrawMcGraw) rather than popular celebrities at the time.
