* IdenticalStranger: Perry, to Piper. She uses this to force a PrinceAndPauper on the latter (or rather "Princess and Piper").
** There's a Rex Guardian with an uncanny resemblance to Finn. He even had his skimmer cut in half the same way that Finn is known for. Nothing really came of him, so the connection between the two is unknown.

**Besides the series long ShipTease with Aerrow, Piper appears to get rather giddy whenever she meets an attractive woman who matches her interests.

** Piper is a more subtle example. Cyclonis less so.

** Snipe claims that the Storm Hawks "May want you to think that they're the good guys, but they're nothing but renegade hooligans who want to mess up Master Cyclonis' Plan!" Given that they were never officially endorsed back on Terra Atmosia, they're all children, and they do want to mess up Cyclonis' plans, he's absolutely correct.

* ProtagonistCenteredMorality: "Talon Academy," has Piper and Aerrow angrily denouncing the Talons, because they're recruiting children into their forces and using propaganda. Not only are Piper and Aerrow fourteen years old, they look to be about the same age as some of the kids recruited. Furthermore, we learn later on that Aerrow, Piper, and Finn were recruited by the sages. So the moral is that it's not okay for Cyclonians to allow children to join their military of their own free will to protect and expand their homeland, but it is okay to tell children that they have no choice but to become soldiers in a war against a military juggernaut "Because Destiny Says So."

Granted, Cyclonia does have at least three points against them: One, they're shown to be less than benevolent towards terras under their heel, so naturally people would want to fight them; two, they were planning to use the recruits in the titular academy to attack peaceful, unarmed people ForTheEvulz; and three, they lied about having a roller coaster.

* RealityEnsues: Technically speaking, there isn't anything wrong with the Rex Guardians having ancient traditions and following them, nor with having a chivalric code or rituals. Plenty of militaries in the real world have their own traditions, exercises, and rites that date back to when these had actual purposes, such as an honor guard (meant to show the strength of your own military to ward off potential enemies and advertise your strength for potential allies), marching in formation (which was a part of warfare for millenia), and military drummers (drums used to be used to send messages on the battlefield). However, when the Rex Guardians take their ancient, storied traditions and try to take on a modern force with them, they get knocked out of the sky in about thirty seconds tops.

** The Dark Ace goes from a credible threat and rival to Aerrow in the first few episodes to being unable to defeat him at 50 times his normal strength halfway through the series.
** The only villains to not decay over the course of the series are Master Cyclonis, and the ones who started out as jokes anyway.
