** The [[spoiler:BigDamnGunship]] moment in the climax is awfully reminiscent of the same scene from ''StarWars Episode II: AttackOfTheClones'', camera angles and everything.

Added DiffLines:

* ThisBananaIsArmed: Lucy has her "lipstick taser."
-->'''Lucy''': You know you really should announce your weapons after you fire them, Mr. Gru. For example-- lipstick taser! Oh, it works so good.

The 2013 sequel to ''WesternAnimation/DespicableMe'' once again follows Gru, along with his three adopted girls Margo, Edith and Agnes, and the Minions.

Gru teams up with secret agent Lucy Wilde (Kristin Wiig) to track down a villain attempting to destroy the world. Gru must get into touch with his inner villain if he has any hope of defeating this ruthless mastermind, even though all he wants to do is settle down with his kids and make jam and jelly on the side. Things get tricky as his Minions start disappearing and he has a horrible flashback to his childhood. He also starts falling for the FieryRedhead Lucy.

* BoobyTrap: PlayedForLaughs. Lucy tried to warn Gru that Eduardo might have one. Gru dismisses this because they're in a restaurant. Not a second later, Lucy turned out to be right - it was a simple tripwire that rang a bell. Turns out, it was to let El Pollito know there were intruders.
** Ditto for the entrance to the lair. In order to gain access, one must take steps on a grid of tiles, each one of which plays a specific musical note; if the steps are done in the correct sequence, the result is the Mexican standard "La Cucaracha" and access to the lair. A single misstep will trigger any one of several booby traps - all of which are far deadlier than the one that summons Pollito.
