- Seems to be the case for a good 99% of art thieves- it's not unusual for them to try the strategy above, nor is it odd for them to post art with obvious signatures and watermarks, write journals about how they drew the work but the original artist bullied them/stole it, or evade ban under an obviously similar name while stealing the EXACT SAME ART they stole last time.

** Example: Some years ago, a troll named Ferdinand-The-Elephant was banned; almost immediately after, a "new" poster (probably a SockPuppet) appeared named [[SuspiciouslySpecificDenial Not-The-Ferdinand.]] [[RealityEnsues He didn't last long.]]

[=DeviantArt=] has a reputation for deleting artwork that they find to be risqué or outright pornographic, a great {{irony}} [[AccidentalInnuendo considering the site's name]] ([[GettingCrapPastTheRadar and the fact that a good-sized portion of the artwork that doesn't get deleted is still pretty risqué]]) and the [[ItsNotPornItsArt "Artistic Nude"]] category. Not-too-un-relatedly, it also has a reputation for being populated by UsefulNotes/{{furr|yFandom}}ies, [[SmallNameBigEgo oversized egos]], and [[SturgeonsLaw bad fanart]]. There's even a game about making a search with at least two words or more and trying not to find {{Mary Sue}}s, ''Manga/{{Naruto}}'', {{Anime}}, {{Comics}}, {{Manga}}, ''Franchise/SonicTheHedgehog'', ''Franchise/{{Transformers}}'', ''Franchise/MyLittlePony'' ''VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys'', ''VideoGame/{{Undertale}}'' or certain popular modern day cartoons. All in good fun of course, and the fanart/"creepy"-art-to-"normal"-art ratio is not as high as some parts of the Internet may claim. Nevertheless, it's still widely derided for the tons of Rule 34 art that avoids deletion by playing to various fetishes, and the site's become the butt of many jokes relating to such imagery. It is also rather infamous for occasional bouts of paralyzing bugs. Trying again shortly never works. People like Creator/{{Sonbreezie}} have gotten their start on the site, too.

* {{Emoticon}}: They have a long list of emoticons that can be used, and they follow a mostly consistent art style. The image that's on the trope page comes from this site. This is also abused with the many "plz" accounts. Since the site allows for all users to link other users with with their 50x50 pixel avatar images, there are a lot of these that show an image of popular things like memes or characters.

* UsefulNotes/FurryFandom: They are a significant enough presence on the site to have [[http://www.deviantart.com/browse/all/anthro/ an entire category for anthropomorphic-themed art]].
* UsefulNotes/{{Plagiarism}}: Art theft is a very known problem in this website. It proved to be so much for the admins, that they [[http://protectart.deviantart.com/journal/The-Art-Theft-Discussion-544490149 limited the art theft reports to the authors only]]. [[TheyChangedItNowItSucks Users were not amused]]. This problem is also why visitors tend to see a lot of watermarked artwork on the site, including watermarked fanart of all things.
