''[[http://www.transposeoperator.com/ Transpose Operator]]'' is an ongoing futuristic horror webcomic created by Roxy Polk. An unnamed young woman [[spoiler:WordOfGod: "Karin"]] wakes up in a strange medical facility, with [[IdentityAmnesia no knowledge of who she is or how she came to be there]]. Spotted picking her way out from amongst the hundreds of sleeping bodies around her, she finds herself pursued by masked humanoids. She escapes to the roof only to find the [[AfterTheEnd ruined remains of civilisation]] spread before her. That, and a small army of soldiers aiming weapons at the facility...

The second chapter slows the pace down somewhat from the hectic opening chapter, and begins to fill in fine details of the milieu. The first few pages, however, are the most evocative of the story to date, and demonstrate the brilliantly dark and unsettling nature of the world Polk has created. It all bodes very well for the continuing story.

* HealingFactor: "Karin" has this, recovering from badly burned hands in a matter of hours. It's still unclear how it works, although it may have something to do with the strange nanomachines in her blood.

* MagicSkirt: As far as the reader is concerned anyway. Given our lead female's tendency to run everywhere and climb every set of stairs she sees, we have to assume the lab staff get the [[http://www.transposeoperator.com/?p=56 full service]].
* MentalFusion[=/=]{{Telepathy}}: The staff of the medical facility can apparently [[http://www.transposeoperator.com/?p=56 send their thoughts]] to each other. The mechanism hasn't been explained yet, though.
* MedicalHorror: We're pretty sure open chest surgery isn't designed for conscious patients.
* [[OnlySaneMan Only Sane Woman]]: Our heroine is certain this is her. She's basically correct when it comes to the facility staff.

* SceneryGorn: [[http://www.transposeoperator.com/?p=66 This is not a happy town]].
* StandardFemaleGrabArea: Unfortunately for such a good ActionGirl, our heroine is instantly vulnerable to an arm grab.
** Possibly handwavable due to the non-human nature of the medical staff. With enough squeezing pressure, and the strength to shrug off retaliation, there'd be no issue.
* StrappedToAnOperatingTable: Standard medical procedure in the future, it seems.
* TookALevelInBadass: Our heroine. Right [[http://www.transposeoperator.com/?p=196 here]].
