* CanadaEh: It's rarely mentioned, but the series is set somewhere in Canada.
** Specifically, Thornhill, Ontario

* TheBeard: Inverted with Cerise and Callie; Cerise was only pretending to take an interest in her, to use Callie's popularity and her status as Faith's right-hand, to gain recognition for herself. Which worked for awhile, but ultimately didn't end well[[note]]the details of how it went south are in Cerise's and Callista's sections of the character sheet[[/note]].

* ActionGirl: Applies to all but a few of the girls at Artemis, who range from [[BadassNormal badass normals]], to psychically/magically empowered, all of whom are being trained to hunt monsters.
** WorldOfActionGirls: Seeing as the cast is [[ImprobablyFemaleCast predominantly female]] and the setting being at an AllGirlSchool for monster hunters in training? Yeah.
* AllForNothing: [[spoiler:The final gag. Cerise spends the entire series trying to usurp and otherwise one-up Melissa. This ultimately builds up into enslaving the school with MassHypnosis and several cases of attempted murder. In the epilogue, when Melissa finally ''gives'' her control, Cerise realizes that she never thought about what she would actually do with it and simply turns it back to her]].

* AwesomeMcCoolname: Applies to the Hellrune coven and the cast in general, since all of them have {{Meaningful Name}}s - covered further down in the related trope and on the character sheet.

* FantasticRacism: The students at Artemis Academy seem to ascribe to the belief that all monsters are [[ChaoticEvil inherently evil]] and are trained to hunt and kill them.

* PantyShot: Considering the shortness of those skirts, not too surprising. Given that the main characters are a couple of years older than most of the EC cast, the artists may feel a bit more free to do this.

* WitchSpecies: Though the differences are not immediately visible, witches are dissimilar to other spell casters. The principal of Charybdis Heights describes them as having the same cursed, cryptid blood that other "monsters" such as the ones at her school possess and the Artemis monster hunters intend to kill.

* AbsurdlyPowerfulStudentCouncil: {{Justified}}.

* FiveManBand: The Artemis student council, as follows:
** TheLeader: Faith is the StudentCouncilPresident; making her the head of security.
** TheLancer: Callista is her designated second-in-command and the [[TheArcher Archery Club's]] captain.
** TheSmartGuy: Sandi serves as Faith's personal secretary and gathers intel.
** TheBigGuy: Tandy, as captain of the school's [[{{Ninja}} Ninja Club.]]
** TheChick: Amelia is captain of the school's Volleyball Team and is the most feminine one.
** TokenEvilTeammate: Gabrielle is the council's TortureTechnician and ComedicSociopath.

* SchoolgirlLesbian: Cerise is convinced that this will be their fate in this all-girls school; given the wink one of the girls gives her while she says it, she might already have an admirer.
** Sandi has a galaxy-sized crush on Student Council President, Faith.
** The splash page for [[https://pixietrixcomix.com/magick-chicks/dating-games-chapter-5 Chapter 5]] shows that there seem to a large number of lesbian couples at the school.
** There seems to be very few actual lesbians, but a ''lot'' of bisexuality. Except for the coven lampshading it on their first arrival, this is treated as wholly unremarkable.
** Skye is hinted with the potential to be one, especially after taking in excess Evil to save Cerise.

** Jacqui has proved her competence. [[spoiler:She cast a spell that cause Sandi to see her greatest desire (Faith naked) to leave her indisposed then disguised herself as Sandi, and a tree as herself. The end result is her esper opponent flying head on into said tree and [[SugarWiki/FunnyMoments Sandi naked and dry humping a different tree.]]]]

It's co-written by both Creator/GiseleLagace (who originally did the art) and Dave Zero1, with inks (and other inputs) by [[Webcomic/{{SPRINGIETTE}} Shouri]]. As of February '12, the full art duties had been picked up by Cassandra Wedeking, who had worked on Webcomic/EvilDiva, but duties returned to Shouri in May '14, leaving Cassandra to work only on ''Webcomic/DangerouslyChloe''.
