*** Sarah and Christine: [[TheIngenue Ingenues]] who have grown into self-assured women. They struggle to reconcile knowing that stalking isn't sexy--they made the "right" choice in canon--but still being attracted to and caring about their suitors.

*** Eric and Jareth: [[StalkerWithACrush Stalkers with Crushes]]. Too dark and villainous for their canons to grant them happy endings, but too sexy and sympathetic for the fandoms not to wish it for them. Both are also musical and theatrical, with a taste for the dramatic. On the other side, as alike as they are, Eric has a great deal of fundamental human compassion, and ''chooses'' to let Christine go, while Jareth is conversely very ''in''human and fae, and truly does not understand that kind of human morality.

* IHaveBoobsYouMustObey: One of Christine's favorite persuasion techniques is the ''cleavage squeeze''. She also frequently combines it with PuppyDogEyes for maximum effect. (As Sarah pointed it out this only works on guys.)

*** In ''Labyrinth'', it's a scene of temptation, yes--the princess dress, David Bowie... but it's portrayed as kind of monstrous, what with the other partygoers. They're wearing demon masks, and acting… orgy-ish. And then they surround Sarah and start laughing at her. Inversely, at Éponine's ball the partygoers who are watching are Sarah's ''friends'', who care about her. They're shipping them, watching with bated breath, and ''giving them space''. The partygoers this time are kind and respectful--the fear and mockery isn't there.

* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: Sarah to Christine. Both are very much competent and GenreSavvy in their own right, but Sarah [[FryingPanOfDoom favors the most direct approach]], while Christine [[GuileHero prefers more subtle manipulation]].

* {{Adorkable}}: Aziraphale. Erik, when he's in CannotTalkToWomen mode, has [[http://pika-la-cynique.deviantart.com/art/GND122-Happiness-and-Homicide-179376030 shades]] [[http://pika-la-cynique.deviantart.com/art/GND220-Blind-Spot-361742046 of this]] as well.

* BreakingTheFourthWall: Sarah once said she was going to have Hoggle brick up the fourth wall, but she evidently forgot to ask him or he forgot to do it, because there is NoFourthWall in this comic. They don't mention it all that often, so when it comes up it ''feels'' more like BreakingTheFourthWall, but if we're being honest here, there's never been a fourth wall. [[Literature/GoodOmens Crowley and Aziraphale]] are most prone to bringing it up, with [[LordOfTheRings Legolas]] coming in second in that regard, but they ''all'' mention it from time to time. They discuss their home canons, squeals, fan service, and even the continuity of ''this'' comic![[note]]The girls are pretty sure that the KissingUnderTheInfluence LesYay Outtake wasn't in continuity.[[/note]]

**MediumAwareness: The characters are seemingly aware they're in a humor comic, and will sometimes [[LampshadeHanging comment on it]]. They're particularly aware of how fanservice-based their comic is, to Sarah's fury and Jareth's delight.

* BuffySpeak: The goblins aren't very eloquent, and they're prone to this in general. The way they title Sarah is a particularly funny example. They can't quite call her "Queen" yet, so they instead use the Buffy Speak version of the title: "Sarah Boss Lady."

* FinaglesLaw: The Apartment has a fail field surrounding it, so anything that should be awesome... isn't. Like when [[Literature/{{Twilight}} Edward Cullen]] happened upon the Barbecue for Toby's birthday... (In trope terms: "The perversity of nature" is good friends with the RuleOfFunny but has some serious grudge against the RuleOfDrama and the RuleOfCool).

* ManicPixieDreamGirl: Or something to that effect; referenced in the form of a [[http://pika-la-cynique.deviantart.com/art/GND191-Canny-Human-Dream-Girl-312538623 Canny Human Dream Girl]], because Jareth himself has the [[TheFairFolk Manic Pixie]] part down.

It's just word play though, as neither Sarah nor Jareth really embody the trope through.

* MayDecemberRomance: Played with as the characters lean on the FourthWall. Jareth is a fairy tale kind from... a long time ago. Sarah is in college... and was 15 in 1986, and had at least one date with [[spoiler: Jacob Black]], definitely a teenager.
* MediumAwareness: Outside of the occasional bout of fourth wall breakage, the characters are seemingly aware they're in a humor comic, and will sometimes [[LampshadeHanging comment on it.]]

However, even if their is no fourth wall, they're all used to that fact, so they don't bring it up all that often, so it sometimes when they do, it comes across more as BreakingTheFourthWall.

* NoSenseOfPersonalSpace:
--> '''Sarah''': PERSONAL SPACE, JARETH! GET WITH THE NOTION!

* WriterOnBoard: Pika's feminist views show in the comic. Mostly when she gleefully deconstructs many sexist tropes and lampshades at least as many more in the process. Also Christine's {{Character Filibuster}}s about things like the madness of AMatchMadeInStockholm / ScarpiaUltimatum could be very well interpreted as {{Author Filibuster}}s.
** She also makes it perfectly clear what she thinks about {{Literature/Twilight}} (and by extension sexist romances brim full with UnfortunateImplications; Their characters won't survive in the Fail Field) and {{Sequelitis}} ([[FanonDiscontinuity Never happened]]).
