* ShoutOut: The way Jon Snow sits up in the background during the end of Martin's first verse in Tolkien vs. Martin is ''eerily'' similar to the way TheUndertaker and [[ProfessionalWrestling/Kane]] used to do it!

Peter Shukoff confirmed in an [[https://www.inverse.com/article/38430-epic-rap-battles-season-6-youtube-trump-nazis interview]] that, due to real life issues[[note]]Very specifically, Donald Trump becoming president and the ensuing rise of white nationalists/nazis[[/note]], the series has gone on an indefinite hiatus. While Season 6 is still on the table, both Peter and Lloyd are feeling burned out and don't have it in them to continue right now, and have decided to take a much-needed break.

** Shaka refers to Caesar's legionaries as "pasty white hordes" at one point. While a Sub-Saharan African like Shaka would of course consider them very light by comparison, they definitely could not be described as pasty. Caesar's men were mainly recruited from what are now central and southern Italy (the parts north of the Rubicon were considered Celtic at that point), and so the dominant phenotype among them would be tanned/olive-skinned, as well as brown-haired and brown-eyed (something attested to by the Pompeii frescoes, and, well, [[CaptainObvious modern central and southern Italians]], who [[[[https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3646727/ haven't changed genetically]] since the fall of the Roman Empire). In fact many Roman accounts made a specific distinction between themselves and the Germanic/Celtic/Belgic tribes specifically because lighter features were much more common among the latter groups.

* MistakenForRacist: A number of people pointed out how Caesar's line about making Shaka and the Zulu slaves sounds incredibly racist due to their respective skin colors. Skin color had nothing to do with it - Romans typically made slaves of any conquered foe. They also accepted anyone who willingly joined the empire - Two of the Roman Empire's emperors were born in Africa, and they certainly were not white.
