What Cerise doesn't actually think about is that Adrien would wind up staying on Marinette's side, understanding she did what she had to do and while she does make mistakes, she knows more about being human than Chloe or Cerise can ever imagine.

While there was an attempt to get her away from Chloé in "Evillustrator," all Sabrina did was try to make Marinette her new leader. So an alternate route will eventually be explored: Sabrina enters a group without Chloé for an assignment, (probably Rose and Juleka, to invoke BlondeBrunetteRedhead,) and she will be rendered unable to choose a temporary Chloé. Sabrina discovers new interests and the joy of friendship on equal footing. Even if she returns to Chloé's side in the end — because without her, the AlphaBitch will have no-one at all — StatusQuoIsGod will still be averted, because she goes back with a mind of her own, and, hopefully, [[SignificantWardrobeShift a nicer outfit]].

At the end of Season 5, Gabriel manages to get both the ladybug and black cat miraculous and make his wish. But it's stated this requires a sacrifice of equal measure. He saves both Emelie and Natalie, but seemingly only sacrificed himself. Even Gimmi, the kwami able to grant wishes, states that a wish requires balancing the universe by making an equal sacrifice.

This is pretty much a given, but let's consider the possibilities: while parts of the season five finale [[EsotericHappyEnding ruined it for many fans]], there is no denying that things have never been better for all of the characters that matter. This will all change when Lila (or whatever the heck she's calling herself now) makes her move with the Butterfly Miraculous. Now not only do Ladybug and Cat Noir have to deal with a new wave of Akumas, but also an outraged public accusing them of lulling everyone into a false sense of security with the belief that the attacks were finally over. Some people might even get Akumatized over it and target the heroes out of spite.

While Marinette may have told Adrien that he didn’t need to live up to his father's “legacy” and could just be himself, these people will be more interested in controlling Gabriel’s company through him when he's old enough to take over. To that end, they will pressure him to continue modeling and study to become the new CEO instead of doing what he wants, all for the sake of becoming a man his father could be proud of. Marinette will protest against this, of course, but her voice will be drowned out by the many others who insist that Adrien should absolutely want to be just like his awesome old man, including many of their friends. As Adrien becomes more and more miserable and conflicted, Marinette will slowly realize that he will never be free unless she tells him the truth about his father, forcing her to make a devastating choice.

It seemes like everything has gone well for Marinette in the end. She's finally gotten the guy, she recovered all of the Miraculouses she lost last season, and Hawkmoth is gone. She's won.

In order to not completely shatter what little emotional stability the boyfriend she's been trying to get all season had left, she honored Gabriel's request and made him the hero that stopped Hawkmoth along with her. Marinette would almost certainly feel guilt lying to Adrien like that, let alone the fact she's essentially forcing Plagg, Felix and Kagami to lie with her, even if only by association.
