* How Peng could know his name is a puzzle, one we'll need to see explained on the show. But chronologically this theory just can't work. The show takes places between the movies. The fact that Po is still learning and mostly incompetent suggests it can't take place close to WesternAnimation/KungFuPanda2, so even if it takes place ten years or so after the first one, the show must be no more a year or two after WesternAnimation/KungFuPanda. Even if the show ''did'' take place close to WesternAnimation/KungFuPanda2, Peng cannot be more than 10 or 12, and is probably younger. Which would put him to being born right after the first movie, if not ten years before it. I highly doubt [[spoiler:Tai Lung stopped to bed a woman on the way to the Valley of Peace, and before that he was in Chorh-Gom for twenty years with no access to women.]] Now, if [[spoiler:Tai Lung had been with a woman not long before his rampage, that would allow for her child to grow up and have Peng at some point during Tai Lung's time in Chorh-Gom. So Peng might be his grandson.]]

To explain how Tai Lung, despite being a DoorstepBaby, had a nephew who knew about him, it might have been likely that as he grew older, Tai Lung became curious about his family and did the research to find out who they were, eventually discovering them and getting to know about Peng, who in turn got to know his uncle on some level. However, by that point, Tai Lung was old enough (though not fully corrupted yet) that he realized at that point in his life, he'd already come of age, there wasn't much point staying with his biological family anymore, and that he'd be better off dedicating his life to kung fu at the Jade Palace. And thus, from that point on, a connection was built between Peng and Tai Lung, because Tai Lung re-discovered his family off-screen before eventually becoming a FallenHero.

[[WMG: Fu-xi being descended from the dragon gods is unintentional reference to ''VideoGame/TaiFuWrathOfTheTiger''.]]
In that game, [[BigBad Dragon Master]] used his magic to transform members of the Snake Clan into dragons, and Fu-xi is a snake whose ancestors were ''dragons''. And given that many people see ''Franchise/KungFuPanda'' franchise as a ''very'' loose adaptation of that game, I could say that this bit of Fu-xi backstory is unintentional reference to ''Wrath of the Tiger''.

* He personally trained her and back then, he might have made some of the same mistakes with her that Shifu made with Tai Lung, cultivating her skills and training her with lavish praise and no criticism or very little correction. To his credit, Oogway eventually saw her true nature and even made a special cage just to hold her but by that point, the damage had already been done and she'd already turned into a villain. And it was because of his own mistakes in life that he made with his former star pupil that Oogway was easily able to see the darkness in Tai Lung's heart, making Fenghuang a SmallRoleBigImpact character who plays a big role in kickstarting Po's ascension to being Dragon Warrior in the franchise as a whole since she makes more appearances than some of the one-shot villains of ''Legends of Awesomeness'' but isn't quite as recurring as the guys in the [[RoguesGallery Brotherhood of Malfeasance]].

Chained Sinkholes and that Jerkass pothole implies that trope is listed in Mantis' folder when it isn't.

In relation to the above WMG, Mantis is (proportionally) the strongest of the Furious Five, and will submit to the DarkSide. Especially considering his JerkAss behavior in allowing Po to get his ass kicked while Mantis goes on a date with a girl who doesn't even like him.

Specifically, [[RoguesGallery all the enemies which have been showing up]] will eventually band together as a LegionOfDoom to take out the Valley of Peace. (Assuming [[EvilVersusEvil they can ever agree on anything]] and [[EnemyCivilWar don't come to blows over]] [[ItsAllAboutMe who gets to be in charge]].) This could come about in one of several ways.

For years, he's built up this idealized image in his head of being [[MartyStu the perfect warrior]] [[AwesomenessIsAForce made of awesomeness]]... yet he also believed he wasn't ''really'' good enough to ever come '''close''' to that. Now, he's obtained that lofty title, and has been learning he's got the ''potential'' to live up to it... yet he's also finding it takes MUCH more hard work than he ever expected. His personality's in flux because he feels he SHOULD be insanely confident and proud of who and what he is, and that he SHOULD have completely conquered all his self-doubts and insecurities by now... but he hasn't.

Dewicking NotSoDifferent per TRS

And this will spark a NotSoDifferent moment when Fung rants to Po about feeling like he was being ''forced'' into the family business. However, Mr. Ping was supportive of Po's dreams of becoming a kung fu master, while Fung's father obviously didn't want to see his son become a bandit. Realizing this will help Po develop an even greater appreciation for his dad, prompting a heartwarming scene between them.
* Well he appeared, and while it didn't lead to any NotSoDifferent moments for Po and Fung, nor did Po get a greater appreciation for his dad, we did find out that Fung's dad didn't approve of him--not because he [[EvilParentsWantGoodKids disapproved of his son becoming a bandit]], but because [[InadequateInheritor he wasn't evil enough]] in helping him take over China.

''Her'' version will paint Oogway, Shifu and the rest of her iteration of the Furious Five in a VERY different light. Both sides will be FromACertainPointOfView, and she'll attempt to invoke and exploit NotSoDifferent by emphasizing jerkish behavior by Past!Shifu that fits nicely with the... less than pleasant demeanor he initially had in the first movie. (Of course, there'll be more than a little bit of UnreliableNarrator on her part...)

* Sadly it looks like this won't come to pass, since Peng's fears [[spoiler:of Tai Lung's darkness and thirst for power being InTheBlood]] have caused him to abandon kung fu.

* In a later episode "The First Five" Fenghuang re-appears in a rather uneventful way (and no this isn't just a case of being OutOfOrder, this episode has a later production code too). However Po reversed time, so Fenghuang never stole the seeds and never pissed off the Shuyong Tree to earn her fate in the realm of oblivion. Po may have anticipated her ambush from before however, explaining how Shifu survived this timeline and how she ended up in prison before the next episode.

Shifu's pretty darn old himself, and while kung fu does seem to extend one's lifespan Shirong isn't a master ("good but not great"), so a smaller age gap than usual would make sense. Shifu's mother apparently wasn't in the picture; were they married, how old was she, was she still alive when Shirong took Shifu away? Being a single parent at an unusually early age, even a single father, would likely be frowned on, which would explain why Shirong became a wanderer, and thenceforth a criminal as it would be the easiest way to earn a living.
