Then he got specific superpowers that ''cured'' this condition, and while they're active he's functionally a genius. This is even more effective than simply having powers that boost his intelligence, because when his powers are on standby, his condition causes him to think about refining his plans from a patient and (relatively) normal viewpoint ''all the time'', overcoming the pitfalls of TooCleverByHalf and allowing him to apply complex subjects in ways that the typical EvilGenius will overlook.

With Dabbler and Deus both indicating that [[spoiler: the creator of the orbs and the creator of the Superion Field are one and the same]], it seems to be a very real possibility that [[spoiler: the K-T Event's meteor contained the orbs as well as either creating some sort of field around Earth that caused people to evolve so that they can utilize the Superion Field, or had some proto-biological lifeform that mixed with the survivors of the K-T Event - mammals - and hid the decryptor for superpowers inside of their DNA until it reemerged recently.]]
