* PunchClockVillain: Arguably, most of the Reapers. They're inarguably the antagonists, but most of them don't have anything personal against the Players and are just doing their job. Furthermore, a good deal of them are quite decent, and will be at least grateful if they are helped by Players, like 777 and Kariya.

* SurprisinglyGoodEnglish: Most of the soundtrack's lyrics are in fluent and idiomatic English, and some of the singers actually have good-to-excellent English pronunciation. It helps that several of them are actually native English speakers born and raised overseas; for example, the rappers for "Game Over" and "Detonation", Andy (Mac)Kinlay and Londell "Taz" Hicks respectively, are expats from Britain and America.

* GratuitousEnglish: Grammatically the official lyrics to the songs are all fine, but the singer seems to pronounce every other word wrong and the singer seems to skip many of the words and sing a few out of order. "Hybrid" is hit with this hard, [[SurprisinglyGoodEnglish but there are still some pretty good ones.]] Every time "You have 7 days" shows up in the English version, it's "Timelimit within 7 days" in the Japanese version.

* CriticalStatusBuff: Various clothing items (primarily from the "Lapin Angelique" brand) provide status buffs when the wearer is low on HP. Combine these with pins that place Neku in critical HP at the start of battle and you have the "[[FanNickname Lapin Angelique]] [[FunWithAcronyms Suicidal Special]]" and can strike ForMassiveDamage.
