* GuideDangIt: Nobody and nothing ever explicitly tells you what the three gels are for. Your only hints are occasional small pictograms placed in the rough vicinity. The blue Repulsion Gel and the orange Propulsion Gel are introduced in a way that it's fairly easy to discover their respective property by acciden. This is averted with the white Conversion Gel, thankfully. The prerecord we message prior to the test explicitly states it's an excellent portal conductor.

* MisspellingOutLoud: One of the [[MemeticMutation highly memetic]] Space Core's many, ''many'' lines about space includes him spelling the word "space":
-->'''Space Core''': S-P... uh... Ace.

Good luck figuring out how to leave the room it first shows up in on your own.

* RealisticDictionIsUnrealistic: All the characters with dialogue are either AI's, presumably with plenty of processor power devoted to proper diction, or speaking through prerecorded messages. This is actively averted, however, by Wheatley, whose colloquial and BuffySpeak-laden dialogue is intended to come across as very "human" and personable -- except when he's ''trying'' to sound smart or confident.

* FreezeFrameBonus: A threefer in the Perpetual Testing Initiative trailer. The easiest is the person from the Valentine's Day trailer, who still has the diamond on their lap. The other two are more quick- one person's watching porn on their computer (at work, even), and the other's watching the still-unreleased "Meet The Pyro" from ''VideoGame/TeamFortress2''.
** Also, check the disclaimer at the bottom left. It changes several times throughout the course of the video and, while occasionally hard to read, is pretty hilarious too.

* ActivationSequence: [[spoiler:GLaDOS]] gets an epic one filled to the brim with TechnologyPorn early in the game. It's so awesome it was used as a prime marketing feature in the trailers.
