* TheFunInFuneral: [[spoiler:Captain Qwark's]] memorial features not only Ratchet (who knew damn well that the deceased was about as heroic as something not very heroic) and listing their "wonderful qualities" as including being really tall and having a chin with "kind of a butt shape", but also has Clank ([[spoiler:actually Klunk]]) responding to the Galactic President's heartfelt speech with "What a load of bullsh-".
-->Ratchet: And he had a unique... "fashion sense"...

** Also to the first game, where Ratchet is hired by Gadgetron, only to be disappointed to learn that the employee discount doesn't kick in for another two years. Well, two annual installments later, and if the player has a save file of the original game, they get a 10% discount on all weapons in the game (not sold by Slim Cognito).

** Plasma/Quantum Whip. It is a melee weapon that needs ammunition and it is very weak even among starting weapons. Needless to say, it won't see much use outside of crowd control.
*** It does have one thing going for it though. The whip, like the wrench, can be thrown, which allows it to hit whole groups of enemies two-to-three times each, for a single ammo. This puts it about on par with the Nitro Launcher in terms of damage, albeit being much much more finicky to use.

** Fully upgraded Ultrashield Launcher returns fire to enemies and can drain health from enemies and restore it to Ratchet, but the former is weak and the latter doesn't work unless Ratchet is close to one of shields (enemies thankfully don't need to be that close to shield). Also the shields are stationary and don't give any indication of when they will wear off, meaning your protective barrier can fade away at any time, exposing you to shots.
%%* BareYourMidriff: Courtney Gears.

%%* ** From a meta standpoint, the game's three control schemes (normal, lock-strafe and first-person) can be placed on the quick-select menu. Theoretically, this allows players to switch between the three modes on the fly to take advantage of their specialties (platforming and crowd control, general combat, and precision aiming, respectively). In practice, it's a good way to invoke DamnYouMuscleMemory, since each mode has wildly different button layouts (including altering the jump and fire buttons).
*
BareYourMidriff: Courtney Gears.Gears, sort of. Her chassis design is certainly meant to invoke the effect.

* NoOSHACompliance: In the Shadow of the Robot vid-comic, Qwark has to trek through Dr. Nefarious' secret base on planet Magmos, which looks like a factory with lava randomly pouring everywhere. Nefarious himself ponders why the base is so needlessly unsafe (ironic considering its probably Nefarious himself who did).

* ButForMeItWasTuesday: A rare heroic example of the villainous variant. has a VillainousBreakdown in the middle of their boss fight, when Ratchet kills their favorite . Of course, to the player (and presumably Ratchet as well), said looked completely identical to any of the number of mooks they'd been mowing down for the entire fight.

* WidelySpacedJailBars: There is a containment area on the Starship Phoenix with bars like these. The PlayerCharacter actually can walk between the bars, but the NPCs in there never think of escaping this way. To be fair though, the area is used to contain Quark, who is much bigger than Ratchet and can't escape from it, meaning it's also TailorMadePrison.
