* RageBreakingPoint: Kurt is a pessimistic, disgruntled man, but never loses his cool despite being repeatedly humiliated and sent back into battle since the events of MDK. The breaking point comes when [[spoiler: Emperor Zizzy Balooba]] cheerfully tells the trio that their efforts were for nothing, and that the game is over. Kurt flies into [[UnstoppableRage a rage]], [[ShoutingShooter yelling and firing his chaingun as he charges]]. After that, he doesn't speak until [[spoiler: Emperor Zizzy]] is [[ImplacableMan dead.]]

''[=MDK2=]'' begins right where the last game left off, here reluctant Hero Kurt Hectic, a janitor employed aboard Dr. Fluke Hawkins' [[SpaceStation orbital space station]], the ''Jim Dandy'', is sent to deal with the last minecrawler in Canada instead of enjoying his well-earned break from fighting off the last batch of minecrawlers. After killing the pilot, Kurt is promptly kidnapped by a rather huge alien called [[TheDragon Shwang Shwing.]] From here, the characters Kurt Hectic, Fluke Hawkins, and Hawkins' assistant/guard - a six legged, bipedal robotic dog named Max - take turns saving one another, until they finally confront [[spoiler:the Emperor of the alien empire, Zizzy Balooba.]]

* SpaceDoesNotWorkThatWay: After Dr. Hawkins depressurises a room, he survives in a complete vacuum by wearing a fishbowl on his head. There's no [[LampshadeHanging lampshading]], [[AppliedPhlebotinum phlebotinum]], or [[HandWave handwaving]]. Borders on [[BigLippedAlligatorMoment Big Lipped Alligator Moment]], even in a game this silly.

* DesignatedDriver: Played for laughs. Trying to drink the "The Sauce" item in Dr. Hawkins' first level gets a response.
--> '''Dr. Hawkins''': No, can't do that! Driving this starship, you see.

* WeakButSkilled: Doctor Fluke Hawkins, in spades. He has less health than the other characters (60, compared to Kurt's 100 and Max's 200), and can't pull himself up onto ledges. However, he's simply the best at [[MacGyvering MacGyvering]] his way out of trouble, and is handy with atomic toast.

* DevelopersForesight: If you decide to leave the toaster in the kitchen as Dr. Hawkins (despite being part of the tutorial), Kermit will ask you to fetch it after cleaning out the lounge. [[AvertedTrope Nothing stopping you from leaving the bread behind, though.]] Also, see the entry for [[DisproportionateRetribution Disproportionate Retribution]] listed below.
