I have always been here\\
I have always looked out from behind these eyes\\
It feels like more than a lifetime\\
Feels like more than a lifetime

Sometimes I get tired of the waiting\\
Sometimes I get tired of being in here\\
Is this the way it's always been?\\
Could it ever have been different?

Do you ever get tired of being in there?\\
Don't worry, nobody lives forever\\

Once I had a really long, cool profile, but then for five minutes I decided I was taking a leave of absence from the Internet. When I came rushing back, I swiftly regretted backspacing all that cool shit. I think I still have my Troper Wall, though, but I can't remember how to link to it.

Suffice it to say, I'm a ghost who haunts Yack Fest occasionally and has vast delusions of grandeur. Don't take me seriously. I am actually a deeply anxious individual plagued by insecurities. I'm probably not even cool on the Internet.

Shit, I'm posting here again. Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water. Now I'm kind of annoyed that I got rid of the really long profile I'd written here.

Sorry, guys! I don't post here anymore. I'm trying to cut down as much as I can on my Internet use, so I'm only using Tumblr now--find me at http://dragonborntoparty.tumblr.com. Find me there and follow me if you want to keep in touch with me.

Some stuff I'll leave here for reference.

This stuff's important. I'm working on a novel (among other things, which will probably never be finished), and these are the threads I've made about it or in which I've asked questions to do with the work. Thank you, TV Tropes, for already helping me to become a better writer.

Also, as I am obsessive archivist, some of these may have only marginal relevance to my work. I felt they were important enough to include anyway.

- Friedrich Nietzsche

"Evil, be thou my good."\\
- Satan, Paradise Lost

"Evil does not necessarily disprove a good God. Quite on the contrary, evil may be a necessary element of a good God. Without evil, we could not know good. This is the Duality Theorem. We can only know light because there is dark, pain because there is pleasure. Opposites define each other.\\
Another factor is the teleological aspect of pain. Perhaps our life on Earth is sort of like a spiritual ‘boot camp’ or gymnasium, in which we are getting opportunities to evolve to higher levels of spiritual development.\\
We may need the pain, grief, hardship and evil that comes to us in the same way that an athlete needs the pain of a hard workout to prepare to play at higher levels of performance.\\
Perhaps it is all in how we define the situation. If I define every situation as an opportunity for growth, I can be grateful for it. The key factor is our response. If we can respond with patience, kindness, forgiveness, love and understanding to ALL things, perhaps we can evolve to a higher level.\\
Perhaps that is why we are here."\\
- Richard E. Yinger

"It is better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt."\\
- Mark Twain

"An atheist is someone who is certain that God does not exist, someone who has compelling evidence against the existence of God. I know of no such compelling evidence. Because God can be relegated to remote times and places and to ultimate causes, we would have to know a great deal more about the universe than we do now to be sure that no such God exists. To be certain of the existence of God and to be certain of the nonexistence of God seem to me to be the confident extremes in a subject so riddled with doubt and uncertainty as to inspire very little confidence indeed."\\
- Carl Sagan

"Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."\\
- C. S. Lewis

"And one idol lit up by that flash, seen fair and lovely on a dream-throne of silk and gold under a chryselephantine dome, is a shape of deathless grace not always given its due among groping mortals -- the haughty, the unconquered, the mysterious, the luxurious, the Babylonian, the impersonal, the eternal companion of superiority and art -- the type of perfect beauty and the brother of poetry -- the bland, grave, compliant, and patrician cat."\\

"The man who is to be great is the one who can be the most solitary, the most hidden, the most deviant, the man beyond good and evil, lord of his virtues, a man lavishly endowed with will--this is precisely what greatness is to be called: it is able to be as much a totality as something multi-faceted, as wide as it is full."\\

A work in progress.

* Nightmare Fetishist. -- To the nth degree. I sometimes worry that I scare people with my interest in the macabre, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
* Fan Girl -- Of many things, but perhaps most prominently the FEAR series, from which I take my name.
* Blood Knight -- And a credit to your team, until I accidentally kill one of you in my eagerness to slaughter zombies.
* Slytherin -- Snake girls fuck on the first date.
* Hair of Gold, Brown Eyes
* Metalbender
* Introversion Tropes -- I run the gamut of these; from Bookworm to Hates Small Talk to The Hermit. Sometimes, I may appear extroverted; and indeed, I'm not completely allergic to social interaction; but don't expect me to be the Life of the Party. (LOOKIT ME I'M USING SEMI-COLONS I'M SO SMRT HERP DERP.) I'm the kind who prefers an intellectual conversation with one or a few people to a big gathering. May be a Tsundere; exhibits strong signs of being a Kuudere. Absent Minded Professor has been evoked word-for-word by people close to me. Now that I've finished explaining the finer points of M-theory, can you tell me where I left my socks?
** EDIT: I appear to be the opposite of this on TV Tropes. This requires further research.
* Ninja Editor / Serial Tweaker -- To a truly pitiful degree. Don't be surprised if that post about video games I wrote two minutes is now an essay-length screed about horticulture.
* Melancholic/Choleric -- With plenty of see-sawing between the two.
* Aquarian Monkey
* Sir Swears A Lot -- I really don't mean to be uncouth but at this point swearing is an inextricable part of my vocabulary. Fuck.
* Crazy Cat Lady -- Gentlemen (and ladies) prefer cats.
* No Indoor Voice -- Being a bit hard of hearing will do that to you...
* Cloudcuckoolander and The Loonie -- According to others!
