->"''There's just something special about being the one who drives a girl to genocidal insanity.''"
--> -- Abicion on the CorruptTheCutie genre

Abicion is some guy who posts on the internet. His favorite voice actress is JunkoIwao. His favorite movie is ''PansLabyrinth''. His favorite song is NewOrder's "Bizarre Love Triangle." His favorite TV show is ''BreakingBad.'' His favorite video game is the complete ''Sonic3AndKnuckles''. His absolute most hated anime of all time is ''MaiHime.''

When not posting on TVTropes, Abicion spends his free time writing ''MaiHime'' [[FanFic fanfiction]] (it's a complicated relationship). The most riveting CrowningMomentOfAwesome in any of these creative ventures is probably that one thing that happened in that one ending in the Nagi Path of Terrible Things Happen to Akane. That is, assuming it didn't turn the lead heroine into a giant MarySue.

Widely known for shutting himself off from all external logic and [[WhiteKnighting ruthlessly defending]] any anime (girl) he has a preference for when placed in a confrontational situation.

Responsible for creating the ''{{Viper}}'' page.

Enjoys reading the ''ASongOfIceAndFire'' series, but lost a little bit of interest after Robb '''penetrated''' one too many castle walls and got a'''head''' of himself.

His favorite ancient execution method is the Blood Eagle.

Once wrote a story where ''[[CastlevaniaSymphonyOfTheNight Symphony of the Night]]''-era Maria Renard gets turned into an alraune and feeds Alucard to her mandragora babies.

** The Nagi Path was the last section added to "Terrible Things Happen to Akane" and was published between January and February 2011. [[spoiler: It follows almost the exact plot of TransformersDarkOfTheMoon. Akane is Sentinel, down to the part where he's crawling on his hands and knees realizing his failure. Nagi is Megatron. Nina is Optimus. The pillars are the pillars.]] The ''"Forgive me"'' bit is interestingly inverted, however.
** "Snow Falls" compared to the actual, official-but-not-canon "Test Subjects" ending in Final Fantasy XIII-2. The context is a little different, but... ''yep.''
* InstantOracleJustAddWater: "The Ritual" practically revolves around this concept.
* IntimateHealing: "A Detour Through Time."
* IntimatePsychotherapy: "Bed Chat."

* MeaningfulName
** Ringo in "Cure Pine Doesn't Die in This One." Cure Pine is named after pineapple. "Ringo" is the Japanese world for "apple." He's her missing half. [[HeartwarmingInHindsight D'awww.]]
** Torii in the second chapter of "Kagami Makes an Omelette," for multiple reasons. First, torii gates in Japanese culture are supposed to symbolize the passageway between the mortal realm and the ethereal realm. One possible interpretation of the story is Pallas ultimately fulfilled her wish of becoming human by passing her spirit through her descendants. Then there's the fact "torii" can be translated as either "bird" or "bird perch." The first translation simply follows the same motif as Chidori's name. As for the second translation, what do birds do when they get tired of flying around?
** In addition to being envisioned as modern day [[TheHecateSisters Moirai]], the Three Midwives in "Acceleration" "help" Magical Girls through the birth of their Witch forms.
* MeaningfulRename: [[spoiler: Broken]] Heart Malachite.

* PuppeteerParasite: "Food for Thought" is a textbook example of this.
* RamblingOldManMonologue: ''"'Hey, you sound sort of like Ceres,' Chidori teased before she was swiftly captured by an evil scientist and put through a mysterious surgery that you later find out was for the purposes of implanting a microchip in her brain to repress her long-term memories so she'd be able to test drive an armored David Hasselhoff that could transform into Sentinel Prime."'' Yeah, he just segued from ''AyashiNoCeres'' to ''{{Viper}}'' to ''KnightRider'' to ''{{Transformers}}''.
* RePower: Akane gets night vision and amplified hearing as Robe-specific abilities in "Terrible Things Happen to Akane." Both [[{{Homage}} were lifted]] directly from the [[MetalGear Metal Gear Solid]] series and adapted to her [[CatGirl cat motif]].
** Some of Mint's shenanigans in "An Herbal Remedy" probably fall under this, despite the author's efforts to only extrapolate on abilities she already had.
** Sophia goes from being a reliable but fairly generic CuteWitch to an implied ApocalypseMaiden as a result of her in-story retooling in "Debugging the System."
* SelfDeprecation: [[spoiler: What do you think you're reading?]]
* {{Sequelitis}}: Sort of. "Strategic Planning" is an arguably well-written case study that analyzes the mindsets of multiple characters in regard to a subplot that wasn't heavily focused on in the source material. "''Un''strategic Planning," however, is a thinly-veiled author rant on the plotholes of a movie that wasn't really supposed to be taken that seriously to begin with.
** And then there's the transition from the epic canonical plot of Crysis 2 to his [[{{Understatement}} much less ambitious]] "Crysis 3" fic.
* ScrapbookStory: "Homura's Encyclopedia of Witches"; "Ramblings of an Evil Scientist."
* {{Shipping}}: The majority of his intimate pairings are by no means outside the normal stretch of the imagination given the canon material (Hikari and Touji in "Test Drive," Chidori and Yuuhi in "Kagami Makes an Omelette," etc.) But then there's the fact even ''he'' sometimes wonders if he really wrote "The Kitten and the Snake."
* ShortStory: His specialty.
* ShoutOut: Far too often.
* ShowingOffTheNewBody: "Encore" and "Terrible Things Happen to Akane."
* SparedByTheAdaptation: This is what he believes he did for Asuka (and the integrity of the plot in general) when he took Rebuild of Evangelion 2.0 and adapted it into "Xanatos." Oh god, don't get him started on Rebuild 2.0.
* SubvertedTrope: In addition to being a tragic tale of romance filled with Transformers references, the second chapter of "Kagami Makes an Omelette" was written with the explicit intent of subverting MobileSuitGundam00's closing message of [[spoiler: "Humanity can achieve understanding... but only if you douse everyone in radioactive fairy dust and turn them into mutants first!"]] No, really.
* SuperpowerLottery: How his version of Obsidian Lord explains the [=HiME=] system in "Matchmaker," and how the rules are applied in every other [=HiME=] story he's written. All that abstract canonical stuff about how a [=HiME=]'s amount of "love" determines the size and powers of their Child? [[HoldingBackThePhlebotinum Gone.]]
* TechnoBabble
* TheCutie: It goes without saying.
* TheNudifier: Maria falls victim to this in "Mariasynthesis." Then there are the cocoons in the Reverse TokyoMewMew Path in "Terrible Things Happen to Akane." And that spell Black Lady uses on the entire Sailor Senshi team in "Change in Management." And when Sophia is being "assessed" in "Debugging the System."
** Shadow Rise inverts this on herself in "Encore."
* TheOphelia: Akane, in varying degrees.
* TheOjou: Lydie is supposed to represent a rather diabolical interpretation of this at the end of "Monster Princess."
* TheWoobie: A recurring theme.
* [[WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds The Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds]]: [[spoiler: Definitely "Doubts." Probably "Everyone Dies." Oh, and it's called "Shirleygeddon" for a reason.]]
* {{Vaporwear}}: The fact Akane uses the Pure Heart Malachite Robe (or some slight variation thereof) in almost every major battle in "Terrible Things Happen to Akane" must count for something.
** Any time a female lead is wearing a plugsuit in one of his EVA stories, it's a PaletteSwap of the test plugsuit. This leads to Hikari getting used to it and becoming the InnocentFanserviceGirl in "Test Drive."
* VirginSacrifice: "Sacrifice."
* WeaponOfChoice
** CoolSword: Pyrrha Alexandra, Estellise Heurassein, Melissa Tiss, Orihime Inoue, and Anemone. No, not [[EurekaSeven that]] Anemone.
** DualTonfas: Akane Higurashi/Soir and Talim. Hikari Horaki meets this trope halfway.
** StaffChick: Mint Adnade, Sophia Esteed, Fatina, and Ryuna.
** TheArcher: Kureha Touka, Natalia Lanvaldear, and Madoka Kaname.
* WishFulfillment
* WellIntentionedExtremist: In any story where her actions become questionable but she's not outright AxeCrazy, Akane falls in with this crowd.
* {{Yandere}}: Heavily featured in "Doubts," along with shades of {{Yangire}}.
* ZettaiRyouiki: For lead characters, there's Sophia Esteed, Charlotte Aulin, Madoka Kaname (in civilian form), Mami Tomoe (in MagicalGirl form), Rise Kujikawa, Angela (Castlevania), Pyrrha Alexandra, and Serah Farron.

* ShortStory: His specialty.
* ShoutOut: Far too often.

* TheOjou: Lydie is supposed to represent a rather diabolical interpretation of this at the end of "Monster Princess."
* TheWoobie: A recurring theme.
* VirginSacrifice: "Sacrifice."

* FlawExploitation: Nagi does this to Hell and back with Akane in "Terrible Things Happen to Akane."

* ForScience / MadScientist / ScienceIsBad: "Second Opinion." "Awakening." "Ramblings of an Evil Scientist." "Like an Arrow Through the Heart." "Kagami Makes an Omelette." In "Debugging the System," Computer Science is Bad.
** ReluctantMadScientist: Anonymous Hacker Guy in "Debugging the System."
* FunnyAneurysmMoment: That thing with Mahya in the Nagi Path of "Terrible Things Happen to Akane."
* GoOutWithASmile
* GrandTheftMe: What else would you expect from a guy whose favorite sci-fi titles include ''{{Freejack}}'' and the first season of ''{{Viper}}''?
* HearingVoices: They're almost always of the Evil variation.
* HeyItsThatVoice: Plenty of stories involving characters played by JunkoIwao, YuiHorie, MichelleRuff, and LauraBailey in canon.

** "Canned Pineapple" was posted two days before the third episode of Madoka aired. The weird part is, [[spoiler: he didn't even start watching it until around episode 6.]]
** On July 8, 2011, he posted "Acceleration," a story about a group of Puella Magi who corner another helpless and terrified Puella Magi in a dark alley before directly harvesting her Soul Gem. [[spoiler: On July 23, 2011, Manga Time Kirara Forward published the seventh chapter of PuellaMagiKazumiMagica, which features a group of Puella Magi cornering another helpless and terrified Puella Magi in a dark alley before directly harvesting her Soul Gem. And the victim's name in the manga was Akane. ''So'' close.]]
* InstantOracleJustAddWater: "The Ritual" practically revolves around this concept.
* IntimateHealing: "A Detour Through Time."
* IntimatePsychotherapy: "Bed Chat."
* InvertedTrope: The entire concept for Pallas in "Kagami Makes an Omelette" can be described as Reverse [[AGodAmI Sentinel Prime]].
** JapanTakesOverTheWorld? "Euphie Conquers the World" says no.
* IronicNurseryRhyme: The Obsidian Lord ending in "Terrible Things Happen to Akane."
* ItsNotRapeIfYouEnjoyedIt: Akane and Elliot are total sluts in "Akane Finds Herself in a Disadvantageous Situation" and "Nanosuit Failure."
** Averted in one of the outcomes to the Meister of Windbloom route in "Terrible Things Happen to Akane," where Akane clearly ''didn't'' enjoy it. And if we're including MedicalRapeAndImpregnate in this, Chidori didn't like it too much in "Kagami Makes an Omelette," either.
* KilledOffForReal: He is typically not a fan of what he describes as "magical Disney resurrection bullshit."
* KillTheCutie: And Cure Pine is the current reigning champion.
** 1. "Canned Pineapple"
** 2. "Betrayal"
** 3. "Betrayal: Redux"
** 4. "A Battle of Wills"
** 5. "Acceleration"
** 6. "Buki's Ladder"
** Honorable mention: The second chapter of "Homura's Encyclopedia of Witches."
* MagnificentBastard: His preferred style of antagonist.
* MamaBear: Mama ''Tiger'', to be more accurate.
* MeaningfulName
* MemeticMutation: Some might say this comprises his entire existence.
* {{Miko}}: Kureha and Ryuna both start as this and ultimately become the EvilCounterpart of it in "The Ritual."
* {{Mindrape}}: It's a hobby.
* {{Moe}}: "Leave it to Abicion to take a subplot straight out of TheHandmaidsTale and make it moe."
* {{Nanomachines}}: And not just for his MaiOtome fanfics.
* OffWithHisHead: "Euphie Conquers the World," "Charlotte's Cuisine Critique," "Terrible Things Happen to Mai," and multiple endings in "Terrible Things Happen to Akane."
* PatchworkKids: "A Detour Through Time."
* PregnantBadass: Do not insult Kazu-kun.

* CyberneticsEatYourSoul: One of the bad endings to the Meister of Windbloom Path in "Terrible Things Happen to Akane" is pretty brutal with this. "Ramblings of an Evil Scientist" is an obvious example if you see past the UnreliableNarrator. * DarkerAndEdgier / SugarApocalypse: Any story that features FreshPrettyCure characters.
* DistaffCounterpart: He describes Kallen in "Refrain" as "a girl version of the GundamSEED junkie pilots."
** GenderFlip: This and some strategic truncation is all it took to make the opening quote of "Kagami Makes an Omelette" surprisingly relevant.
* DoesntLikeGuns: Hikari in "Test Drive." She gets over it. [[spoiler: It doesn't make a difference in the end.]]
* DownerEnding
* DrugsAreBad: "Refrain" and one of the story branches in "Terrible Things Happen to Akane" play this straight. "Awakening" combines this with some sort of vaguely defined [[{{Watchmen}} Dr. Manhattan-esque]] [[ILoveNuclearPower radiation bath.]]
* {{Epigraph}}
* EvilDuo: Kureha & Ryuna ("The Ritual"), Eclair & Lumiere ("Retrieval" alternate ending), and Tira & Talim ("Winds of Doom" alternate ending).
* {{Expy}}: Ringo in "Cure Pine Doesn't Die in This One" is really just Kazuya with his name changed to reflect that universe's fruit theme. Chall's post-Plutone disaster facial scarring from [[Gundam00SideStories Gundam 00P]] guest stars in one of the "Test Drive" endings. And then there are those Anime [[{{Film/Excalibur}} Excalibur]] characters in "The Ritual" and "A Detour Through Time."

* ContinuityNod / MythologyGag: "Terrible Things Happen to Akane" was built on these. "Puella Magi Kazuko Magica" gets a couple of jabs in. The description for "Nanosuit Failure" [[RapeAsComedy turns the entire story into this]].
* CorruptTheCutie
* CrossOver: In relative moderation.
* CuteBruiser
* CuteIsEvil: "Debugging the System," "Winds of Doom," and "Pyrrha's Inner Thoughts" strongly support this argument.
* CuteMonsterGirl: "Mariasynthesis" ends with one, and that one route in "Terrible Things Happen to Akane" has an entire team of them.

His favorite ancient execution method is the Blood Eagle.
