* OneOfUs: Cecil Baldwin linked to the TVTropes entry for the show on his Facebook, calling attention to the "Adorkable" description in particular. He often posts fanart of his character by various artists on Tumblr, and seems both knowledgeable about--and delighted by--the fan-culture surrounding the show, describing himself as a "Night Vale Geek" in an interview.

* Hoist By His Own Ampersand: In the 1st season book collection, one of the authors tells how he felt it to be artistically absolutely indisposable that there was a "&" and no ordinary "and" in 11th episodes title "Wheat & Wheat By-Products". Unfortunately, "&" is a special character and the podcast software was nonplussed, or should that be, nonampersanded.

* HeyItsThatVoice:
** The Faceless Old Woman is voiced by Creator/MaraWilson.
*** This might double as an ActorAllusion to her role in the Website/ThatGuyWithTheGlasses 'verse, as she was portrayed as an EldritchAbomination there too.
** Intern Dana is voiced by Jasika Nicole - better known as Astrid Farnsworth in Series/Fringe.
** Hiram [=McDaniels=] (who is literally a five-headed dragon) is voiced by Jackson Publick of WesternAnimation/TheVentureBrothers fame. One of his heads even sounds suspiciously like The Monarch.
** In the L.A. Podcast Festival episodes, James Urbaniak, also of WesternAnimation/TheVentureBrothers fame, fills in with redone ads for older episodes, voicing them as intern Leland and his identical relative who end up getting the Redshirt treatment. He returns in episode 67 to voice , who is hosting a clip show.
** Fey in Episode 42 is played by Molly Quinn - Alexis from Series/Castle.
*** Made into a brief CastingGag in the Night Vale / ThrillingAdventureHour crossover, where Quinn does the voice of recurring TAH character Pemily Stalwark. A bit into the second act, she is [[spoiler:erased from existence when her past is altered and she fades away. When her timeline is restored and she returns, she remembers "so many random numbers" and sings a few lines from Katy Perry's song "Roar", which Fey hollered during one of her broadcasts.]]
** Episode 54's intro was definitely read by Joseph Fink, creator of Welcome to Night Vale. Finally. After all this time.
