** Back when Paramount owned a chain of regional theme parks, they added ''Wayne's World'' themed rollercoasters called "the Hurler" to some of the park and this included actual Stan Mikita's Donuts restaurants; when CBS (successor to the old Viacom) sold the parks to Cedar Fair, the Paramount theming was removed and the Stan Mikita's became other restaurants.

* BTeamSequel: Penelope Spheeris, who directed the first film, was approached by Paramount to direct the sequel. Spheeris immediately declined the offer due to the fact that Creator/MikeMyers had been so difficult to work with during the making of the first film. Instead Stephen Surjik was chosen to direct ''Wayne's World 2''. Spheeris would not make peace with Mike Myers until after the release of the first ''Franchise/AustinPowers'' film.

** The state of rock music is set firmly in
the early 1990s, nineties, in the last moments before {{Grunge}} culture took over. It was grunge started to dominate the American rock scene.
** The film's premise is based on cable access shows that have been completely supplanted by YouTube and other online media.
** The ProductPlacement scene parodies ad campaigns of its time. The Nuprin brand of ibuprofen stopped being sold in America shortly after the film released. Wayne also quotes Pepsi's then-current slogan, "The choice of
a new generation," which had already been replaced by the time when Music/HeavyMetal and Music/HairMetal were still very popular forms of music.the film released.

* ThrowItIn: The scene with Wayne and Garth talking on the hood of their car was the last scene filmed. Since everyone was tired and just wanted the movie done, they ad-libbed it. Mike Myers' hysterical response to Dana Carvey's question (about whether he found Bugs Bunny attractive when he put on a dress and played Girl Bunny) was genuine.

** The reason Wayne and Garth rarely turn their heads to look at one another, instead turning their entire torsos in one anther's direction, was the result of everyone's neck getting sore from doing so many takes of the headbanging scene.

** Mike Myers' original idea for ''Waynes World 2'' was as a remake of the 1949 British comedy from EalingStudios ''Film/PassportToPimlico''. He went ahead and wrote the script without checking whether Paramount Studios had obtained the rights first. By the time it went into pre-production it was too late. Buying the rights at that late stage would have delayed the release and cost the studio millions of dollars. Paramount exec Sherry Lansing brought Myers to her office and angrily yelled at him, threatening to sue him and take away his house unless he rewrote the screenplay. A chastened Myers agreed and wrote a new story for ''Waynes World 2''.
