*RoleReprise: For the new scenes (such as his interaction with Creator/WaltDisney) in the episode "Toot, Whistle, Plunk and Boom", Bill Thompson reprised his voice role as Professor Owl from the ''WesternAnimation/AdventuresInMusicDuology''. This would be the final time he would voice the character as well due to his death in 1971 twelve years later.

** While the show was doing good on CBS, Disney didn't let the show go on after the 1982-83 season so there wouldn't be any competition with the new Creator/DisneyChannel. (They also stopped licensing content that had previously aired on the show to Creator/{{HBO}} {those airings kept the original, kalidoscopic opening titles/bumpers}. However, there was a period in the 1980s when Disney syndicated reruns to local stations.)

** The producers and director of ''Film/Cinderella1997'' planned to follow it up with an adaptation of ''Theatre/TheWiz''. They signed on Music/PaulaAbdul to choreograph, and the then-unknown Anika Noni Rose (who'd later star in Disney's ''WesternAnimation/ThePrincessAndTheFrog'') to portray Dorothy Gale. However, rights issues with Creator/{{Universal}}, the studio that distributed the 1978 movie version of ''Film/TheWiz'', prevented ''The Wonderful World of Disney'' from progressing much further with their take. In 2015, the producers finally did release a TV version of ''The Wiz'', but for Creator/{{NBC}} instead of ABC, and with a different director (Kenny Leon), choreographer (Fatima Robinson), and Dorothy (Shanice Williams). At one point, an adaptation of ''Theatre/FiddlerOnTheRoof'' was also announced.

I get the impression that whoever started this list had no intention of ever updating it, especially since he/she didn't include any of the episodes released after Walt died (and I can confirm that they do have some, but I don't know howe many)

I don't have the ambition to list every episode from '97 onwards available on iTunes, and apparently no one else does, either.

* KeepCirculatingTheTapes: The total number of episodes Creator/WaltDisneyHomeVideo released on DVD seems pretty small when considering how many seasons this show has, and gets even smaller after one learns how many of those [=DVDs=] have gone out of print. Additionally, while Disney Blu-ray Discs contain excerpts of varying lengths, only five full episodes have become available to own on Blu-ray: "The Peter Tchaikovsky Story", as a bonus feature on the ''Disney/SleepingBeauty'' 50th Anniversary Platinum Edition (but not the more recent Diamond or [60th] Anniversary Editions), "The Best Doggone Dog in the World", as a bonus feature on the ''Disney/OneHundredAndOneDalmatians'' Diamond Edition and Signature Collection discs, and the ''Scarecrow of Romney Marsh'' three-parter, on a Disney Movie Club exclusive BD. Mitigated after Disney started putting select episodes on [=iTunes=], at least in the US. (So far, only "The Story of the Animated Drawing", "The Plausible Impossible", "Tricks of Our Trade", "An Adventure in Color/Mathmagicland", "Disneyland Around the Seasons", and "The Best Doggone Dog In the World" have been released, with the last one -- sold as an extra for ''101 Dalmatians'' -- lacking an option to download.) Also, on occasion, certain episodes have aired as part of TCM's ''Treasures from the Disney Vault'' block.

** An insert inside select copies of the ''Film/{{Chicago}}'' Razzle Dazzle Edition DVD promoted ''Cinderella'' and ''Film/Annie1999'' "Musical Magic Edition" re-releases, scheduled for Spring 2006. Disney inexplicably cancelled selling these discs, without ever explaining what exactly would've made them different from the normal [=DVDs=].

* WhatCouldHaveBeen: The producers and director of ''Film/Cinderella1997'' planned to follow it up with an adaptation of ''Theatre/TheWiz''. They signed on Music/PaulaAbdul to choreograph, and the then-unknown Anika Noni Rose (who'd later star in Disney's ''Disney/ThePrincessAndTheFrog'') to portray Dorothy Gale.
