* ThoseTwoActors: ''A Thief's End'' isn't the [[VideoGame/MiddleEarthShadowOfMordor first video game]] Nolan North and Troy Baker have worked on together. Or [[VideoGame/SaintsRowIV the second]], for that matter.

* FollowTheLeader: The first game followed [[Videogame/GearsOfWar two]] [[Franchise/TombRaider leaders]] before either had been [[FromClonesToGenre firmly established as a genre]] and [[TropesAreNotBad succeeded admirably]].
** Going by the first gameplay trailer of ''Uncharted 4: A Thief's End'', it seems like ''Tomb Raider'' and ''Uncharted'' are following one another so hard, they've formed an ouroboros.

* CastingGag: A fairly subtle one in ''A Thief's End''. Creator/RobinAtkinDownes has played both minor and major villainous roles in nearly every game in the series (including ''Golden Abyss''), so it's not surprising when he returns in flashbacks as Alcazar, doing a very similar voice to Atoq Navarro; however, given that Nate only knows the man by his reputation as the "Butcher of Panama" [[spoiler:and is unaware that he died in a shoot-out half a year ago]], it implies that this is just what Nate ''imagined'' Alcazar sounded like when hearing the story, plucking a convenient voice from his memory.

** It has been rumored that Amy Hennig left ''Uncharted 4'' over how excessively dark the original concept of the game was.

** Sam was originally planned to be an antagonist. Graham [=McTavish=] and Alan Tudyk filmed scenes for Uncharted 4 (with [=McTavish=] reprising Charlie Cutter) which were cut when writer Amy Hennig left the project.

Likewise [[spoiler:Nate was originally going to have a son in the Epilogue and the English archaeologist whose mansion Sam and Nate break into as kids was going to be male, until they changed both to female characters]].

* DoingItForTheArt: The team at Naughty Dog could be called insane for the amount of work they put into these games. From doing motion capture and dialogue recording ''at the same time'' to squeezing every last bit of power out of the PS3's Cell Processor, the effort they go through to produce this amazing experience goes far, far beyond what is required to make these games a success. They don't just go the extra mile, they pave the road for everybody else.
