* HeyItsThatGuy:
** Susan gets to sleep with Series/RemingtonSteele.
** She swapped Superman for Film/JamesBond.
** Governor Swan as the main villain.
*** One of the bumbling Royal Navy sailors from the same film as a radar operator.
*** Look for King Leonidas as another radar operator on the Devonshire.
*** Hell, it looks like Mac, Herrick and The Earl of Grantham all served in the navy at this point.
*** Speaking of of Downton Abbey, the Minister of Defence who debates with M in the beginning of the film is played by Julian Fellowes, the creator/writer of the show (as well as the writer of GosfordPark).
** Jean and Lionel argue about whether to start a war with China.
** Dr. Kaufman is a professor of forensic medicine,and among other things, teaches Stamper how to inflict pain by grinding his victims' organs. But it isn't the first time he's been an organ grinder!
** Sergeant Apone is instructing Bond on how to do a HALO jump without getting killed.
** Gotz Otto, who plays Mr. Stamper, was in the Christopher Lambert version of Literature/Beowulf.
*** He's also Hitler's personal bodyguard in the often-parodied Film/Downfall.

* CreatorBacklash: Brosnan would go on to admit that while he looks back very fondly on Film/Goldeneye, he isn't so wild about the following films in his run. He singled out Tomorrow Never Dies in particular, saying that he felt while filming that it "wasn't up to speed" with its predecessor, and that he had a hard time promoting the film because he didn't care for it and didn't enjoy filming it as much.

Added DiffLines:

** Creator/MonicaBellucci was nearly cast as Paris Carver, but the role was then given to Teri Hatcher. Considering that a lot people disliked Hatcher's acting in this movie, it was probably in the producers' best interest to keep their original choice. Bellucci would have to wait 18 years before she would have the chance play a Bond Girl.

** Ricky Jay is a famous magician who is able to throw playing cards with enough force to embed them in anything from a watermelon to a wall. Scenes deleted would have incorporated this into his character Henry Gupta.

** There were three songs wrote up for the main theme. Two of them made it into the film as the main and credits music, respectively; the third, also titled "Tomorrow Never Dies" by Danish band Swan Lee, was later used for Hitman: Blood Money. It's the song which plays during the game's credits, and also sung (badly) by the AxCrazy female assassin in the "Heaven and Hell" level. Music/Pulp also wrote a proposed theme (which had the film's original title, "Tomorrow Never Lies"), later issued as a b-side. Music/SaintEtienne also wrote a version.
