** Had the English distribution rights remained to ADV, the show would've aired on television in the United States. Creator/CartoonNetwork liked a mass-media pilot and Creator/Nickelodeon liked a kids' pilot (in fact, Nick said they would air the show if ADV got merchandising rights). To this date, the Funimation dub has never aired on television in the United States outside of their own channel, and no network has picked it up.

** The dub was also going to have some name changes, such as changing Natsumi to Natalie This one actually happened in most non-Asian countries to air Frog, so Funimation wasn't exactly pulling a 4Kids here, and removing the third syllable of the frogs' names (Keroro became Kero, Tamama became Tama, etc). This was changed due to negative reception, and they instead went with the original names for the characters.

* HeyItsThatVoice:
** In Funimation's dub...
*** Keroro is Firo, Death the Kid, Northern Italy, and DGrayMan Allen Walker.
*** Tamama is Ennis, Eve, and Tony Tony Chopper.
*** Giroro is Piccolo, Vegeta (among others), Kuwabara, and Zoro. This is also not the first time Christopher Sabat has voiced a very intimidating but sometimes very whacky career soldier.
*** Kululu is Emperor Pilaf, Dr. Stein, and Hiei, not to mention [[spoiler: another, considerably darker mad scientist character who works for the military...]].
*** And Dororo is Issac Dain, Scar, and Eneru.
** How about the Japanese version?
*** It's hard to see Giroro in the same light when you realize that Creator/JojiNakata also voiced Hellsing another red-clad character, who's a hell of a lot more violent and much more effective... Also, Giroro... Is... Leonidas!
**** A competent officer who constantly has to put up with a frustratingly WildCard that he can't control. Are we talking about Giroro and Keroro or Van and Asch? Hilariously, this one got lampshaded in the RPG where Giroro got to use Van's Ancient Requiem, as one of his specials.
*** Kululu is Aya Fujimiya, Zechs, Neuro, and Lord Il Palazzo
**** "Hey, what about me?!"
*** It's not hard to imagine Keroro shouting "WAHOO!!"

** Also from Saburo in episode 298, a reference was made to Akira Ishida's role as Xellos from Slayers, with Saburo using his catchphrase, "That is a secret!"

Added DiffLines:

* GodCreatedCanonForeigner: Katoyama Kiko, a human mecha designer who joined the Keron Army for a while, and also Mois' friends, girls with similar missions to judge and destroy planets, like Maya, Luz and New, who appear in one story of the last season of the original anime, were all created by Mine Yoshizaki but have made no appearances in the manga at all, not even in small cameos.

* TheAbridgedSeries: It's had a few, but WebVideo/SgtFrogAbridged by Creator/TheMidnightFrogs is the best known.
** If it weren't for that whole "not actually abridged" thing, the Funimation dub would be one itself.

** A GundamWing parody in Episode 320 has Kururu turned into a Zechs Marquise-like character. TakehitoKoyasu, Kururu's Japanese voice actor, also voiced Zechs in Gundam Wing.

** In the dub, Lavie's TV show is called "Gunbringer Girl", and it's described as being about "a cyborg child assassin who always brings her gun with her everywhere." Mois (Carrie Savage) thinks the title and the premise sound familiar - her actress having had a minor role on GunslingerGirl.
