* AllThereInTheScript:
** Penny's surname has been confirmed to be Polendina, but the name Polendina was never referenced in the show before Volume 3. Even in the credits, she was initially only listed as Penny.
** The name of the Female Narrator from the very first episode is [[spoiler:"Salem"]]. This has only ever been revealed in the credits [[spoiler:of the final episode of Volume 3, due to her on-screen appearance]], but the name was never mentioned in the show before then and hasn't been referred to properly until Volume Four's "Family".

** In TheStinger for Season 4, Qrow calls Oscar "pipsqueak", which is a nickname he also gives to Ruby earlier in the Volume 3 finale. One of Vic Mignogna's best known roles is [[Manga/FullmetalAlchemist Edward Elric]], who can't stand having his small size mocked.
*** Even better? Oscar is voiced by Alphonse Elric's original dub actor (and young Hohenheim in a flashback in Brotherhood), Creator/AaronDismuke. At long last, the tables have turned for Ed and Al!

** Considering his [[Literature/TheWizardOfOz character origins]], nobody should be surprised that Ironwood [[spoiler:is truly a tin man. He's got a cybernetic arm, and a large part of his body is made of metal.]]

* BlackSheepHit: ''RWBY'' is something of an oddball in Creator/RoosterTeeth's lineup, being not specifically related to any pre game (aside from its own video game adaptations) and generally more serious than most of their work. It's also one of their most popular series, with a big-screen theatrical release and a video game adaptation of its own.
